Cody, Tmac is probably right.

The shovelware will begin to drown the PS3 and the 360, the same way it's doing it for the Wii.

If you want casual gaming, there's the Wii. If you want hardcore gaming, there's the PS3/360. WHY ARE WE MESSING WITH THIS DELICATE BALANCE?

Oh for the love of god Cody stfu.

I'm not defending TMac (he's proven on countless occasions he's willing to do that himself, popular opinion or not.) You can't go saying that the Wii/DS aisles at any store aren't full of shovelware crap, for more reasons than just motion controls.

Doubt it. High development costs and the strong potential for neither of the controllers catching on that much will stop most of that damage.

Finally games with an easy platinum.

I know I was waiting for it!

Seriously with the PMC, this should bring on a new wave of different kind of fps'. If anything the new RE5 demo showed is the PMC doesn't have to be just for the casual. It can be for the core as well.

Not sure I can say this about Natal. But if its integrated into NXE it could have great uses. And Japan should take off big when they saw Milo. Can't wait for the ton of dating games they'll develop for Natal.

15 games I won't be bying.

Just give me a serious 3rd person hack&slash,we've seen it basically working with PMC, I'm sure it'll work with Natal, why is no-one making such an obvious choice for a hardcore motion game (Did no more heroes truly match your movements? I don't know so please say in reply).

I hear Natal may also come to the PC? If the PC doesn't get these motion controllers, then PC and console gaming will see a huge rift, where currently, many games are ports on the PC/360/PS3.

Ubisoft has the PS1 strategy: quantity over quality.
The quality will outweigh the quantity in the end, just keep shooting that shotgun.

I've got a PS3 & and a 360 and I have no interest in these motion games... but seriously, is there ever ANY good news for Sony this generation?

Two more people who have been hiding under a rock...

Sony has had a ton of good after a rocky start. Heck, the 360 is doing great too despite their quality issues. All in all, I think all three consoles are doing quite well - they have all brought something new to gamers and if they end up copying each other to compete, well then so be it. That way we all get to enjoy the latest developments.

Btw, if you are going to use absolutes like the word "ANY", you really should do some research so you can back it up otherwise you come off looking like a run of the mill fanboy (unlike the refined ones which are harder to spot).

Sorry to upset you @ToTheMoon, but besides the recent tick up in Sony sales from the price drop and slim coming out, there hasn't been much positive news at all for the PS3. Perhaps it's because gaming websites unfairly report bad PS3 news while, perhaps, downplaying bad Microsoft news.

And, of course, I was being slightly hyperbolic by saying that "there isn't ANY good news," but more or less, the majority of news regarding both the PS3 and 360 is negative for Sony. Heck, I'd happily take more positive news, it'd give me more reason to turn on the system rather than for Uncharted 2 and MLB '09.

The Ubisoft logo where the sphere is supposed to be was a nice touch also, btw.

They take over 2 years to release a new Splinter Cell game but they'll have 15 or so games ready for two totally different interfaces? That doesn't really suggest quality is behind any of these titles. Can you quality check 15 games for two different new interface controllers in 6 months?

This is a perfect example of why im so opposed to natal and ps3 motion controllers.

Perfect excuse for companies to make a quick buck off of cheap shovel wear games for all the casual gamers out there with no standards, leaving the core gamers in the dust, who actually invest time and money into these companies and support their (core) games.

Notice how they said TEN. not one, two or three. TEN. 8/10 of these games will probably have a metacritic rating of under 50.

I can see natal causing the 360 to go down the path of the Wii. This I definitely do not want to happen.

But wasn't the idea of Natal and PMC to reach out to those casual gamers (ie. that Wii market)? You're probably right, 8 of those 10 games are probably gonna have an MC score under 50, but still, they're not meant for us. I think they're trying to broaden their audience and reach those who might not have been prone to the Xbox or PS3. You (and me) are the hardcore gamers that read sites like this and demand bigger games to chew on, and they already have our dollars (from their other properties: Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell, etc).

Yeah!! 'Cuz if there's one thing the success of the Wii has taught third-party developers, it's quantity over quality!! Am I right?

Haha- enjoy your shovelware PS360 folks.
I look forward to the MSDF and SDF teams reactions when Ubisoft blames the consoles for their lack of performance rather than the crappy software they've created.

In a perfect world, Ubisoft will whine eventually that they can't compete with Sony and MS first party games and that third party software doesn't sell.

Meh... I rather play my games than waving my hands around and acting like a lunatic. One of the reasons i bought a PS3. Tilting a controller is one thing on things... waving my hands around to do other stuff is different all together even if i only use tilting to reload my weapons.

I actually don't mind shovelware on PS3/360 as long as they have at least SOME good motion control games or some good games with MC support (LBP, RE 5, Flower) and I'm not being forced to play them. As long as it gets sales.

I'm sure there'll be at least one quality title out for each platform that's an exclusive. Most of the ps3's will probably be ports from the 360 with slight differences but the only thing that'll get me to buy the motion control is if there is a really good game that comes out. Wii sports is fun and all (for 15 minutes) but unless there is an actual quality game that comes out that you can use motion control for, i'm going to stay away from it.

Most of us have enough smarts and common sense to know that the whole motion thing is not going to be mainstream or preferred method of playing a game. We as gamers realize that the idea of using motion will only go so far, and we will prefer our controllers overwhelmingly.

I understand and appreciate the push for something 'new' and advanced and "the next big thing", but unlike the internet, this is not it for gaming. The ONLY thing that would revolutionize gaming is an incredible virtual reality. Something like Star Trek Next Gen had, where they would go into this room and it could change into any type of environment they programmed into it and they could interact, etc. That would be the only thing that could really change gaming drastically. Unfortunately, that whole concept will not become a reality, at least not in our lifetimes.
