Samara is an elite Asari warrior who controls some incredibly potent biotic powers. Forget simply tossing enemies around -- she manipulates dark energy in order to levitate herself, as evidenced in the above video. The footage also confirms that there are still five potential party members yet to be introduced before the game ships for PC and Xbox 360 on January 26 (not March 23 as originally noted by Randy, who's clearly met his recommended daily allowance of paste.)

It's pretty much to protect themselves so that no one ends up suing them for warping the minds of children. Besides it's something that can be done in 5 seconds. It's not that big of a deal.

Its annoying as hell after the millionth time doing it. And protect them from what? There isnt anything in that video that would require age verification, as with practically every other video here.
Its not annoying if its just every once in awhile for videos that actually have a lot of bad language or gore, but its virtually every video on the site with even the most mild G rated violence youd get from a Disney movie.

lol yeah who else was born on january 1st, 1900? joystiq needs to get a real login system so the site can let you bypass the age verification based on how old you say you are in your profile or something.

glowing chars and flickering light stuff arround the char... why does that remember me at Dragon Age?g
BioWare games are all the same somehow, they are good but i stopped to care about the childhood traumatas of my fellow NPC's after KOTOR2 allready, Mass Effect i just didn't care anymore and in Dragon Age i just ignored that stuff. Now guess how intrested i am in the NPCs of ME2 ?
Right! Plz just STFU and get on with the game.... naaah i don't care if your mom is a dragon i want to kill some Darkspawn now... aaah by the Maker then give me that quest and shut up will ya?
...dont get me wrong i like a good designed Story arc in my games but BioWare is way to extreme with the Voiceovers and Stuff.
Now if i look at action RPG's like Sacred 2... well uhm... there is no Story at all...
can't there be something between those two Extremes?

It's sacrilege to say, it but you're more or less right. Bioware needs to try something outside of the "vacant-eyed head staring past you while a voice actor gives a B-list rendition of a backstory from a 14 year old's fantasy."

Too bad I didn't like the original. But only because there was no explanation of all the freaking options and upgrades and weapons and shit. I couldn't figure it out, got frustrated, and sold it.
Maybe I should have give it more time. Or maybe Bioware could do a better job of telling you what all those fancy knobs and buttons actually do, rather than let you figure it out on your own.

I figured two of those five remaining slots were to be filled by Jacob Taylor and Miranda Lawson.
Of the characters from the first game, besides Tali, I would really like to have Garrus back on board as a possible squad member. Wrex would seem to be persona non grata thanks to Grunt.

I rather have Liara, she was totally my favorite team MATE. Plus I found her personality ENGAGING!... Serious though, I`ll be pretty upset if she`s not on my team.

Every character announced except Tali has been excessively "badass" and we have no rational, potentially "Paragon" characters to balance that out.
I was really eating up all the info on this game, but this last trailer made me think "Oh, please". I guess badass is what sells, especially to a Call of Duty/Gears of War install base.

Wondering if anyone knows where that background music is from. If its part of the games score, I need to get it.

Is it just me, or is Bioware going out of their way to make Mass Effect 2 more "dark" than the first? One thing I've always liked about Bioware games is the depth of the story and the maturity of the plot - if this is going to be another instance of, "we're mature because we've got swear words and boobies" then fuck that noise.
