There are plenty of beloved Christmas Eve traditions observed across the globe. Whether it's roasting chestnuts or watching the Christmas Story marathon, everyone's got a different way of marking the arrival of St. Nick. EA's hoping that the 360 owners among you will start a brand new, equally-sentimental tradition as it releases a demo of Dante's Inferno for XBLM on Dec. 24. The sample includes the entire first level of Dante's demonic journey into hell and goes great with eggnog.
Those preferring PSN will get the demo on Dec. 10, a date which has the dual benefit of (1) being two weeks earlier and (2) not making the baby Jesus cry.

Yeah, because Microsoft always sends "love" when it addresses anything...

Partly true. You need gold to get demos when they come out, otherwise you have to wait a week.
But we've known this for 4 years now, so I'm surprised that people still get in an uproar over it. Download it on PS3, or wait an extra week from the 360 release.

I played this on PSP at E3 this year. It plays EXACTLY like God of War. Which means it's fun, but derivative as hell. Also, as a lover of literature, repurposing Dante and his poem as a buff slayer of demons does not sit right with me.

December 24th just might be the worst release date for anything... ever.
Well, for the people that celebrate Christmas, anyways.

Well think about it like this: It's a free demo, not a full game, so it's not like people are rushing out to buy it. Instead, it's like a christmas present to 360 gamers.

I know. I'm just saying that people might be a little busy or preoccupied since it's Christmas Eve and all.

I'm kind of sick of this being called a god of war rip off. Even if it looks similar and uses the same game mechanics, why does that make it a rip off? We get fps after fps and we're all happy to buy the next version of call of duty or halo or wolfenstein. Now, when someone tries expand another genre with their own twist and give the gaming space a little more variety so many people are shooting it down for being in the same arena as God of War. It just doesn't make sense to me.

The problem is that it looks WAY too similar and thus it's a GoW rip off.
But anyway who cares what other people think? Just buy it (when it comes out) and play it and enjoy it ffs.

That's my point though. Battlefield BC2 looks waaaay similar to MW2 as well, but no ones calling it a clone. Besides, God of War is awesome, why is hell themed God of War such a bad thing? I just don't understand.
As for buying it we'll see. Hopefully the demo will be good.

went on the e3 demo and it wasn't bad, didn't think the graphics were anywhere near as good as gow3's, they reminded me of the early titles on 360 where they hd but still blockie

I'm actually really happy about the release date for PSN, trying to fit this in while playing Bayonetta after coming back from the break wouldn't be easy.

Any word on how big this is going to be? The GoW III demo was 2.7GB and that was 15 minutes...

c'mon guys. cant we just enjoy the demo of this hopefully great game instead of starting a christian vs atheist war??? its a game and a game period. enjoy it for what it is. i dont get upset or lose sleep because people dont think god exists. i believe in god but i also believe in freedom. with that being said this game looks awesome!!! its god of war without kratos and greek mythology, and that aint a bad thing!
