I hate the new eco-friendly case. Every time I try to remove the disk, I have to fight with the case and pushy-thing to get the disk loose.

I couldn't agree with most of you guys more.....when I first saw that packaging I'm like WTF?!? If the packaging is somehow poked, which does happen, my disc is scratched because it lacked it's standard protection. I just got a blu-ray movie packaged this way too :-\

I don't know what sort of objects you're sending in shipping boxes along with video game cases, but that's sort of ridiculous. What exactly is going to stab through the plastic case and scratch your game? Apparently something that a centimeter of plastic would stop.

Even if it does, why not just ask for another one?

Whatever, as long as the game comes cheap. xD.
Otherwise, it's pretty much useless. I'd rather pay premium for a special case immune to everything from dust to nuke. haha

Watch Gamestop try to one-up Microsoft and start selling you new games in those crappy paper sleeves.

What, discount? Nono, you pay MORE to be environmentally safe.

Good ol' internet. It even bitches about a trivial change in game case design.

Never fails.

Is it just me or are companies becoming cheap skates under the banner of "eco-friendly" just to save a buck? I get drinks and shakes through the drive through of McDonalds and I promise you it seems like they are skimming about 20% off my drinks and not filling it up! Now I'm concerned that if something punctures my case, my disk will get messed up! Anybody else notice this?

When Brutal Legend came out I asked if anyone else got a shitty case like this and nobody responded.

I seriously hate these cases, eventually I'm going to run out of burger king games to swap the cases with.

It's more that when I pay 60 dollars for something I expect it to look and feel like it's worth it. These cases scream "We spent the least amount of money possible on this" even if that isn't the case. I think the effect on the environment is also negligible at best.

I noticed when I opened Modern Warfare 2. These cases are quite junk. I had a problem getting the game out easily because it was so flimsy, so I decided to switch cases with a game I don't play anymore.

i don't mind this if it is to use less plastic and waste less, but they should print that on the inside or something so that people know about it. This also would have been a good thing for me when I was keeping my games in a CD wallet instead of the cases and threw some away.

I can actually see these holding the games better because I have a harder time getting the game out. It's safer!

I have a lot of games, sometimes stacked on a shelf. Sometimes they fall...s**t happens. I have over 700 DVDs, sometimes a friend wants to borrow one, or a game even....again, s**t happens. Simple.

Already had 2 cases break. And if there is a savings in plastic, there should be a savings on the price tag.

This is not "eco-friendly"!!!! This is a strategy many companies use to reduce the costs of increasing their output. The SAME AMOUNT OF PLASTIC will still be used. I suppose eco friendly would be elliminating cases all together and switching to digital distribution.

Don't you people realize this is just a way for Microsoft to produce more cases at a cheaper/same cost... and these savings will most certainly not be passed down to you as a consumer.

Who the hell decided to cut out the plastic on the one part of the case thats actually protecting the disk?

wouldn't it have made much more sense to get rid of plastic AROUND the disk?

Oh come on guys. sure the company makes a bit more profit but plastic is cheap as hell. If they would hand down the profit to us... A game would cost 59.70 instead of 59.90. You don't really pay for the case anyway. you pay for the game.

I don't get that everybody here seems to be on the global warming is a hoax train nor do i get that i was downvoted for bringing arguments against the table that prove otherwise. Like i said before. I am worried about our generation. We are more likely to believe what we see and hear on the internet than what scientists tell us. If you look for it, you can find everything on the internet so there will always be something to back up your personal view. Don't choose the easy way out.

Global warming or not, using less resources and energy is better. How can you not see that?

Could they PLEASE put the structural weakness of the box NOT where the disc is? Why don't they just invert the pattern? This new design makes it much easier to scratch the disc when it's in it's case.

If making the DVD case is so bad for the environment, then stop making it out of plastic. And you know what? Your cheap case isn't fooling anyone. You're not trying to save the environment. You're trying to save a few pennies so you can increase your profits. Cheap bastids.
