Alright, Europe. We're not sure what you did to get into Sony's good graces, but we wish you'd share that information with your pals in the States. Not only do you guys have access to the PSP Go incentive program, which grants owners of UMDs three free game downloads through March 31, but Sony Europe just went ahead and threw another complimentary game on the pile. Anyone living in Europe who owns a PSP Go is eligible to receive a free copy of Gran Turismo, MotorStorm: Arctic Edge or Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines (or, in Germany, LittleBigPlanet) until January 10.
For more details on the promotion, visit Sony Europe's official site. We've contacted Sony America to find out if we'll be getting a similar offer stateside.

SCEA has always been behind SCEE especially when it comes to customer service.

SCEE is terrible compared to SCEA.
Look at europes PSN compared to yours. We have NOTHING.
I actually laughed when I read your comment that's how bad SCEE is compared to SCEA.
GOW collection 'not coming in december for europe'.
It took like 7-8 months for MGS1 to come to our PSN.
No sign of RE2, Dino Crisis etc.
But at least we have Little Mermaid and Winnie The Pooh...

yeah they are fun, sadly I still have to agree with Uncontrol on this.
it just doesn't have a decent hook.
Its small I get that, it doesn't play existing games I get that too .... they should have stuck with the current psp line and slowly pushed the public into accepting digital distro as a norm then gone full digital with the PSP2. Instead they tossed the market a lemon, sure you can still make lemonade out of it, I prefer the idea of lemon schnapps but I digress.
Now its a scramble to figure out how to get the screaming masses to adopt something that is arguably less when compared to what came before it and at the same time get them to pay more. Sure people point out the PSP Go did wonders for the PSP-3k sales but that doesn't make it a success. I mean people would be laughing themselves to death if that had read more like, Micorsoft releases a portable console and the sales for the PSP skyrocket.
But because its one company and their new product that is viewed by many (not all mind you just many) of the gaming community as a failure, that somehow like a phoenix it rises from the shame and its ok because it spiked the sales of their previous product, a product that it was most likely meant to replace .....
at this point its just a scramble to minimize the damage and get some decent market penetration out of the thing before they scrap the psp for the psp2

Look, I own a Go.
My opinion on it is that its "too little, too early"
Don't get me wrong. I love the little piece of [insert profanity].
Sony has it all wrong though, because they're not releasing games on release date. Or, an option to RENT games for a small fee.
(they do have discounts but its usually rare.)

You'd be surprised Chris.
Especially since most people act like the PSPGo snuck into their home at night and murdered their favorite cat.
Don't like it, don't buy it, stop crying.

If you think they should offer a free digital copy of every UMD, than that means that you own a PSP 3000. It also means you don't have to get a GO.... If you do decide to get a GO you also don't have to throw away your 3000 and games. You could keep them you know.
For all the people who have never owned PSP-anything not having UMD support is no big deal. For everyone who is compelled to get on blogging sites and state the obvious that the PSP doesn't have UMD support and give their opinion that it sucks, don't get one and continue to play the old one....
Everybody is happy.

Its not just that it doesn't play UMD games, its also the lack of download options for a decent chunk of the available UMD library of games. Your really forced backwards to essentially the launch title type options you would have when a new system first comes out. So its not even really an option of getting a digital copy of your current games, in a majority of cases you flat out can't and they will probably never have a digital option.
You could say its the same issue with games that never get localized like Carnage Heart Portable, even tho its an awesome game.

yeah I never understood the people crying about free downloads of games they bought on disc years ago.
Did EA offer a free download of burnout paradise for disc owners? Did Nintendo offer free downloads of Super Mario Brothers?
You bought the UMD years ago, a free download was not part of the transaction. Why do you think you deserve a free game?

I think its more that sony shot itself in the foot by not making a current system that was compatible with the existing standard.
I mean look at the DSi, your incentive to buy it,
It has higher screen quality (from what I hear)
It can download games from the nintendo store
it has two built in (all be it sorta crappy cameras but they get the job done)
IT CAN STILL PLAY DS GAMES.
your incentives not to buy
none really
mind you I won't be buying one because I have a dsphat that is working just fine, tho when the DSi LL comes out ...... its going to be a challenge not to, bigger screens plus slightly better battery life is epic win.
Now had sony just release say a PSP with built in memory say the same 16gb and a camera, that still played UMD games people would probably have eaten the go up. As there would be no reason not to buy it even if you had an existing PSP. Yeah it would have been slightly bigger because of the UMD drive but they could have charged more for it and not caught any flack, still pushed their digital download agenda and released the PSP2 as download only to a fairly accepting public.

For people who don't already have a PSP ...... thats a HORRIBLE marketing strategy and a pathetic attempt at marketing spin is what that is...
The PSP has been out what for 5+ years, possibly more ?
No company that didn't sport an extra chromosome would release a new product in an existing product line designed to capture the the dwindling market share while simultaneously ignoring the massive existing install base. You make something that people will want and that people who have already bought your product will want to upgrade to, you don't go tossing roadblocks and barriers up.
again look at nintendo, no reason to buy the GBA light if you already have a GBA but also no reason not to buy it as it still plays your GBA games.
Yeah the DSi lost the GBA slot ..... but the point there was it still plays DS games, while the PSPGo is incapable of playing any PSP game that is exclusive to UMD which is currently the vast majority, most of which will most likely never see a conversion. With such a fundamental limitation with both compatibility and marketability I seriously don't know how this thing got out of R&D, as is.
as to needing the newest things .... I still have my DS Phat and my PSP1k, never bothered upgrading to the PSP2k/3k because my friend got one and it felt like poorly constructed crap, mind you THEY STILL PLAY UMD games.

I really don't get it. People who are opposed to the PSP Go are some of the most passionately opposed people I have ever seen. If you don't think it is a good deal or it doesn't appeal to you don't buy it. It really is that simple. Who cares if Sony screwed up, I honestly think you care more than they do.
I for one don't own any handhelds and don't intend on buying any of them for myself (I got one for my son for Christmas). If I did chose to get one I would probably look at the PSP Go and people telling me otherwise wouldn't matter at all. So basically you are not doing anyone a public service by telling them that the Go isn't worth it. It's a waste of time really.

DSi is one of the worst purchases I've made in awhile. Its an expensive DS, $30 shy from a Wii, with slightly bigger screens, games still look like DS games, 2 crappy cameras, fun for first 5 minutes, horrible DSi Ware, where are GBA VC?, and a better power button.
Admit it, both Sony and Nintendo are making dumb and expensive iterations. The only difference is people keep buying DSs like myself

I love Sony's customer service... Many years ago, when I had a PS2, some demo disk wiped my memory card. Called sony, got Sly 3 for free.

wow SCEE is really pushing the psp go this offer brings them upto 5 free games SCEA really needs to step it up.As for people hating the PSPgo why it's a great system and the library of games is growing fast, sure it doesn't have every Umd and new releases aren't day and date but really is that a reason for so much hating, hmmmmm!
