It is likely that there is some oversaturation in the market place. They've been really cheap for a long time so its probably a sign of things to come. Still should expect a good christmas.

That Halo 3 Fable 2 bundle sucked. MS was selling the old Zephyr consoles in them. Ones they had just 'fixed' and slapped in a new case.

that chipset was the only reason it sucked I think....aside from that the games were pretty decent....damn sure better than the bundle now....in terms of getting non-casual gamers....

My PS3 is my casual system. Now that I think about it, after christmas I'll even have more Wii games than ps3 games.

Considering I had my 360 a year and a half longer than my PS3, a 23-18 ratio between the two game wise isn't bad for me.

If I had to estimate throughout the whole gen, it's roughly 100 360, 13 ps3, and about to be 16 wii games.

I don't even really have much of an excuse to turn my ps3 on until god of war comes out in late March. Should probably throw the towel over it to stop all that dust from getting in.

No I'm pretty serious Johnny. I've got no reason to pretend to hate sony fanboys, thanks to most of you guys the last few months. I try not to hate my ps3 either, since I kinda spent $600 on it expecting a repeat of ps2 level quality only to be extremely disappointed 3 years later.

Microsoft has branding issues from last generation. The Xbox was seen as the hardcore, shooter, and online console. Both the Playstation and Nintendo brands have always had casual appeal. Microsoft should focus on trying to make the system as "hardcore" as it can, rather than try for the casual market, who doesn't buy many games anyway.

I think you want to be disappointed with the PS3 though. You've said yourself that you only play exclusives on it and you've also admitted you have extremely limited taste in games (you say you hate 80% of the games you play) so it's almost like you don't want to like it.

You said a few weeks ago that you are glad to play (was either MW2 or AC2) on the 360 because you knew it was the slightly superior graphical version ... your words and I can pull the quote if you like ... and then when it came to FF13 you said you didn't care if the PS3 version looked better or if the 360 version had more discs. Thats the essence of hypocrisy (I can explain it if you still don't understand it) and you set yourself up to not like games in general because you have a closed mind. I can count on one hand the amount of games you've said you actually enjoyed this year. Most of the time you don't give a game a chance and bash it without having ever played it.

How many of those 100 360 games are exclusives? Maybe the same amount as on the PS3 if I had to guess give or take a few titles. You can't say that the PS3 doesn't have good games when it has basically the same games as the 360 sans the exclusives. Yet, thats exactly what you say as if it's a matter of fact or there is something lacking in the catalogue.

If you make the choice to buy your multiplatform games on the 360 and the same games are on the PS3 you can't say the 360 has better games. You only have yourself to blame if you don't get any use out of it ... after all you are the one who spent the money on it and yet you still don't buy games for it even though you've said you don't care about achievements and you don't play multiplayer games aside from call of duty. You also have this habit of prescribing to self revisionist history all the time. When a game comes out and you play it you talk about how you like it and it was amazing and this and that ... then, a few months later you say it was overrated and it sucked.

I think your just a bit of a spoiled brat to be honest. Complaining about not having enough games to play when you have all the systems. One day when you have to buy everything yourself and pay for your own way you will have a different attitude. When you actually have to spend your own money on something you tend to enjoy it more. So, in that respect it's not that surprising.

I'll also say I don't think there ever was a research paper. I think you wanted to stop the charade and it was the best excuse you could come up with at the time. But, you couldn't help yourself because you are who you are even if you don't always like it.

I buy almost all my shit asshole, so stop with the "one day when you're older" bullshit you do all the time. No one's impressed that you have a job and a wife and kids. It's almost like you hit adulthood overnight and have to tell everyone about how awesome it is.

I don't buy multiplatform games on ps3 because PSN is inferior and my friends all have 360s, mostly because of the first reason. Sony forced my hand by putting out an inferior interface and online system. Like I said before, I don't want to dislike a system I spent $600 on.

I'm extremely picky because I've been gaming for almost 20 years and quite frankly, I'm fed up with the mediocre bullshit that floods all of the systems. If it wasn't for the rare gem like Mass Effect, Fallout 3, etc etc I wouldn't be able to game anymore at all. So sorry if MAG or Call of Juarez or some other mediocre shit doesn't get me leaping out of my seat anymore.

I don't understand why there's lots of people who hate tmac. Sure he bashes the PS3 and Wii a lot, but it's all just his opinion. I do prefer the PS3 over the 360 and Wii and I post comments about my console preference, but when tmac post stuff about the 360 he gets comments about being a fanboy and shit like that. Downvote me if you like, but tmac is right, a lot of you "ARE" PS3 or Sony fanboys. I bash the 360 too and have a lot in the past. I've had 5 RRoDs, I've said this latest dash update (with facebook and twitter) is the most useless they've ever done, I expressed my dislike of them just buying former Sony exclusives instead of making their own.

First off, the primary development of the Cell processor was done by IBM. Sony and Toshiba provided funding and some technical help, but IBM did the heavy lifting.

As far as I know, they don't teach networking essentials in elementary schools. Why would a kid need to know that?

I got my Masters in Computer Engineering, Computer Animation (CGI) and Game Design, but didn't even know that. You sure do know your tech.

And yeah, I had do many reports of video game systems back in college. Did you know that the Emotion Engine used in the PS2 and 60GB and 20GB PS3 were actually pretty cheap to make. I Don't know why Sony excluded them in the latter PS3 SKUs.

Shop around and you can save a lot, which adds up to more games.
