It may seem like an unlikely source for video game news, but pop singer Jesse McCartney's Twitter account has confirmed the localization of Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. Square Enix hasn't announced a US release for the PSP prequel, but considering the franchise's penchant for making money, it certainly was never in doubt.
Birth by Sleep would be McCartney's third foray into the Kingdom Hearts universe, having previously voiced Roxas in Kingdom Hearts II and 358/2 Days. Kingdom Hearts Union suggests that McCartney may be voicing Birth By Sleep's "new" character, Ventus (pictured, right) -- y'know, the one that looks exactly like Roxas (pictured, left).

I think Jesse McCarntey does a great job voicing mainly because its an awkward thing to voice. Everyone is all friendly and goody and happy and extremely corny. I would get annoyed after a while voicing stuff for this game especially Sora/Roxas/Ventus

THIS.
I feel the same way. I actually didn't know he voiced Roxas until a couple of years ago. I was pretty impressed with how his VA flowed so well considering he probably never even met his co-stars.

Yeah, of course the new character's gonna be Roxas in some form. It's like when "Iroqouis Plisken" appears in MGS2. If you didn't know immediately that was Snake, you're straight-up retarded.

Except that Pliskin really WAS Snake, just using a pseudonym.
The thing with Ventus is that, while obviously connected to Roxas (and thereby Sora), he is at least his own separate character... That's just Tetsuya Nomura for ya... I really like certain aspects of his style, but more often than not he just comes off as bizarrely lazy in the design-diversity department.

That's why I said "In some form", he might be some alternate-universe bullshit or something.

At least he's becoming a productive member of society. Unlike that Hannah Montana slut.

Yep, and Terra for Earth and Aqua for water. Obviously trying to tie into the 3 main characters of the story.

Is there a competition at SE to create the most idiotic sub-name for this franchise?

It's only idiotic if you don't understand that the sub-names have everything to do with the games themselves.
Chain of Memories: had to do with Sora's memory "chains" being broken and rearranged.
358/2 Days: 358 days shared by two people
Birth by Sleep will become evident when the game comes out...unless it doesn't, in which case I apologize for my matter-of-fact commenting.
Besides, BBS kinda rolls off the tongue pretty well. Although, tbh, 358/2 Days was a pretty dumb name.
