Truth be told, loyal readers, we kind of already told you about SouthPeak Games scooping up the right to publish the Midway-developed TNA Impact!: Cross the Line for the PSP and DS. So when the company recently announced that it would be publishing Cross the Line "later this Winter," we weren't exactly flabbergasted.
However, when SouthPeak's Q1 2010 financial report revealed the aforementioned last month, it wasn't clear whether the game publisher had secured rights to future TNA Impact! games or not. Speaking with representatives for SouthPeak this morning, we were declined comment on who owns said rights "other than what's in the [press] release." We've followed up with TNA and will update this post if we hear back.

Wrong. The last good wrestling game was on the N64.

Judging from the screenshots, it'll be a portable version of the 360 and PS3 game, with wrestlers that left the company removed, and possibly a few others judging UMD and DS game cart space limitations. Which means this will be suck and fail too. Pass.
By the way, TNA is not WCW Lite. It is it's own promotion. If you remember, Vince McMahon completely buried WCW and all but maybe 10 of it's wrestlers. Only a handful are left now. And only one PPV was carried over, The Great American Bash, and none of WCW's better-than-WWE's gimmick matches were moved over. No Wargames (better than Hell in a Cell) or World War 3 (better than Royal Rumble). WCW's been set on fire, pissed on and buried.

Will this be an awesome game?
Depends:
If you can play in the old Nickelodeon Guts arena where they do PPV fights, then maybe.
If you can play in the old Nickelodeon Guts arena where they do PPV fights with the Aggro Crag in the background, then heck yes.
If it's just like every other wrestling game, and it will be, then ignore it just like every other wrestling game.

TNA Impact had such a promise. I wish they just worked on the game more. They motion capped all the moves from the actual wrestlers. The reversal from any move type of system they had was awesome. They even recorded the crowd noises from the actual Impact Zone during a TV taping. They just needed that extra time or better talent to put the polish on the game it needed.

I didn't think it was so bad, I bought it recently for cheap and I think it's a much better "base" game than Smackdown! was for Playstation. The wrestling flows well thanks to the counter system. If they had the chance to try again a few times and build on to the series like Smackdown! did, I'm sure it would surpass it.

i liked Impact bought it for $8 off Gamefly but felt the only good thing were the graphics and the gameplay needed work. Its like Midway wanted Impact to play like THQ's N64 games(WCW Revenge, WWF No Mercy, WWF Wrestlemania, WCW vs NWO World Tour). I know that they had Jay Lethal and AJ Styles help develop the game and motion capture the moves.
