Actually, the titular tracks from The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, don't feature very prominently in a recent batch of ads for the game from the UK. Instead, the ads task a young woman with solving some of the game's puzzles (presumably under the stipulation that she be adorable while doing so). All three of the commercials highlight the game's use of the unique features of the DS, namely the microphone and touch screen. We're not sure how entertaining it will be to blow into the mic to play the pan flute for the thousandth time, but the first glance seems novel enough.
"Can you play the magical tune?" Probably. But do I want to? I don't think so...
As much as I dislike all the "casual gaming kills core gaming" talk... Imagine some of that right here. These ads draw a clear picture of who the target group is.
That stupid mic is just another button to me. When I played Bowsers Inside Story, I just scraped my finger across it to blow fire. I'm not blowing in a friggin microphone while on the train to work.
Did you really think of the zelda series as "hard core" ? damn good, possibly
ok the magic tune and the goofy menu with the cartoon hand just lost it some points with me but still looks like it should be interesting. I did like some of the puzzles in phantom hourglass and I hear there are some good ones in this zelda as well. will be worth a good looking over once its released. Prolly gonna try to pick it up at some insane-o after Xmas sale. I missed nearly being trampled to death this year over black Friday so I need to make it up anyhow =P
