To be honest i'm kind of worried

If you read and comment on a video game blog....more than you play video games..

What's the point?

He's been here since early 2008. He had another account before this one it seems. I'll keep this easy and just quote myself:

"Am I the only one who finds it ridiculous that a guy has to defend himself for liking or frequenting a site?

Hell, I've worked with people worse than him. I've worked with shift leaders who, in the middle of the night, will sit around playing on myspace on their phone instead of cleaning or working.

I'm probably on more than he is, as are a lot of people, I just don't comment on every other article. I don't see why he should be getting downvoted for being a fan of joystiq. Do you also hate people who spend a lot of times playing games rather than conforming to your expectations of a Saturday evening?"

http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/31/happy-halloween-youre-banned-from-xbox-live/comments/22734809/

Now, can we all move past this shitty argument about who posts more/who has the biggest e-peen?

Oh and I dare Darth to give up joystiq for Lent.
40 days without joystiq Darth... If you can do it then you have proven us all wrong

The only reason I am concerned is because instead of reading comments to see other peoples opinions, I see your opinions... all the time. Which really isn't that big of a deal, I just like variety. But I'm sure that if you changed your avatar to some cleavage instead of some blue thing you would have more friends.

Unfortunately, I fail to see the humor in this. You're telling a frequent user on a video game blog to leave because you don't like his presence? Who the fuck do you think you are? If it pisses you off so much, then don't come to the site and comment about how obsessed other people are if that's what you're going to talk about. We come to the site to make jokes of celebrities and talk about the articles we read. It's funny how you say he's obsessed with the site yet you're obsessing over his obsession. Just how empty is your life that taking shots at others is the only way to cope? (That I'd like to know.) I bet you couldn't stay away from this site for 30 days less you go insane.
Is making fun of Darth the new fad on Joystiq? Listen, if you guys can't stand someone so much, no one's forcing you to stay here.

Wow dude... calm down
It was just a suggestion / joke, and I'm actually kinda serious that if he could not go on joystiq for 40 days, then no one could bug him anymore.

The minimum ones are surprisingly low compared to the recommended. I wonder if the recommended are for 1280x1024 with all settings on mid-high/high.

Also, I know a few people who still have early XP machines (we're talking back when PCIe wasn't included by default). Would be nice if more games included lower minimum specs. I mean like making the minimum GeForce 7600GS or 6600, just because. The game would probably look like ass, but it would still be playable.

while i agree it would be nice for low end pc's to get some love.

i think it might be a little unfair for developers to be worrying about developing for tech thats borderline with the original X-box while developing for newer consoles and mid-range / high end PCs.

Yeah. It just kinda sucks how every 12-18 months a new set of video cards come out, and after 3 years your video card might be worthless.

But, I guess that's why we have consoles. Now if only more console games would let you use a mouse/keyboard (as much as I love dual shock, games like Command & Conquer just don't work as well).

my video cards are at the 1 year point or a little older.

4870s, but i don't see them becoming "obsolete" next year, the only game i have trouble running is the obvious devil that is crysis.

The 8800GTX launched in 2006, and 3 years later it can still run pretty much everything on mid-high settings. Sure, new cards keep coming out, but they aren't making the old ones obsolete. Most games are developed to be cross platform between the PC, 360, and PS3 and because of that they tend to not be developed for the highest end PC hardware. The idea of needing to replace your graphics card every year is ridiculously exaggerated.

Minimum settings means you can get into a game and it won't crash straight away.

Recommended settings is what you need for it to be just beyond barely playable.

I'm not saying every year. That would just be absurd. Every 3 years is much more likely. Also, yes the 8800GTX did release in November 2006, and already many games list it as the minimum requirement.

While it is probably pretty cheap (I got a 9800 GTX+ for $130 back in April), it would still be nice if they could include support for a few older cards. At the least the 7800 series.

But like I said, that's why we also have consoles.

eh, id reckon you could get 60fps at max settings at 1680.

unless your graphics card has a ton of memory, alot will be going on in this game.

i have 1gb of mem in each card, im planning on getting a 1920 monitor this christmas.
