They said it couldn't be done. Well, to be fair, it can't -- however, if one were to track the completion of Blizzard's super successful World of Warcraft by the number of achievements a player had unlocked, then a Taiwanese player has effectively solved that game tape. A character named "Little Gray" on the Wrathbringer server has completed all 986 of the game's 'cheevos, killing 390,895 creatures and finishing 5,906 quests along the way.
However, this triumph of human resolve has been diminished by one small caveat: one upcoming winter holiday–tied achievement, titled "BB King," remains locked, but due to a glitched PvP achievement that apparently unlocked twice, his statistics say he's batting a thousand. With the game's Winter Veil festivities approaching, we expect Little Gray will unlock that last feat soon, at which point the credits will roll, and his account will be permanently erased. Or the server will explode. Definitely one of those two.

Figured it would be someone in Asia who did it, they're crazy. They'll play nonstop until they die, they're gods at starcraft, they "beat" unbeatable games.

Holy shit. And I'm one of those people who did everything in Oblivion/Fallout (X)/Deus Ex.
This is just bananas. Pure, turd-flinging, bananas.

No whats going to happen is when he finally unlocks that last achievement, they are going to announce that he has reached level one, in their new achievement grind leveling system and that they have more than doubled the number of pointless grindtastic tasks to reach level two, of their two hundred level scheme.

Also to officially be both impressed
I will need proof that it was not in fact a team of players as often is the case for first time game anything (sites for example GerBarb from diablo 2 not being a single person but was a team that played the account in shifts to reach lvl 99 in D2 classic)
and at the same time if it was one person sorta sad for them.

Yea, I guess computers still use tapes.. Maybe punch cards! But! I love the good ol cartridge, Of course you have to blow in them to get them to work. Rubbing alcohol for those that know about corrosion. Tapes tend to have data degradation over the years look at the Atari 800 & 800xl and up, the commodore 64, Amiga, well those systems used disk also.. NOT! Disc mid you... But! Disk.. Those huge things that flopped when you through them on a flat surface! Did you know, Amiga still makes computers I think they call them Amega now not sure why. I'm sure the company probably isn't owned by the same people any more. Don't get me started on Compact Disc those things can scratch ugh, now look at me I'm rambling. Yowsers! Thats showing my age!

Am I the only one who hates it when people cite a secondary source, in this case CVG, when the primary source is clearly available. I feel this is bad practice and can easily lead to distorted facts and the 'broken telephone' syndrome.

They're just telling you where *they* found out about the news. I'm sure they always go to the original source before writing themselves.

I've never understood how anyone can be this interested in a game. I've tried going for a few grinding achievements / trophies, and about 10 minutes into it, I realize I'm bored, alone, and wasting my time. At least one of those can't be true for me to do keep doing something :)

Individuals with psoriasis may experience significant physical discomfort and some disability. Itching and pain can interfere with basic functions, such as self-care, walking, and sleep. Plaques on hands and feet can prevent individuals from working at certain occupations, playing some sports, and caring for family members or a home. The frequency of medical care is costly and can interfere with an employment or school schedule. People with moderate to severe psoriasis may feel self-conscious about their appearance and have a poor self-image that stems from fear of public rejection and psychosexual concerns. Psychological distress can lead to significant depression and social isolation.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Yeah I agree with the poster up top. Yeah maybe he got to the "end" but his battle is far from over. He is still stuck in the cycle of playing mmo's all day and will probably be doing so for at least the next 5 years or so. People who have actually beaten the "game" are the ones who quit. It's that simple. Stop playing and you see the light, that you've been spending your life like a gambler. You get sicker and paler by the moment and when you finally emerge it's like you are reborn. BANZAI.

Hang on a second. This guy did all the HORDE quests and Achievements. But there are still all those hundreds of Alliance quests/achievements he didn't or couldn't do.
Game: unbeaten. I remain unimpressed. (Okay, okay, I'm impressed, but come on, let's be honest.)

He did not complete everything. If you look carefully he has 165/164 PvP and 138/139 World Events. This made the Total Completed 986/986 despite him missing one World Event. He has not "beat" the game.

The next patch due soon adds more achievements, and they'll obviously be more when Cataclysm releases, so noone will ever truely get all the achievements in WoW, unless they play until the end of time/Blizzard somehow.

That's cool. Too bad Icecrown is coming out, which will have probably 100 more achievements at least, and then the new WoW expansion will come out, and there will be hundreds more. It never ends.
