Capcom porting Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney to iPhone

The Wii isn't the only new venue into which Phoenix Wright is expanding his legal business. Today, at the Apple Store in Ginza, Capcom revealed a version of the first Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney for iPhone and iPod Touch. It uses the same unaltered Game Boy Advance graphics that have graced the DS and WiiWare versions, along with new "flick"-based controls. Finally, a device that can both play the game and the Steel Samurai ringtone!

Capcom didn't offer date or price details for the release. For reference, the WiiWare version of the first episode is priced at 900 Wii Points in Japan (with a 300-point charge for the extra fifth case) and 1,000 in North America (with the last case as a 100-point download).

Pretty neat! I've missed out on the whole Phoenix Wright Saga, so perhaps this is my chance to start at the beginning.

Can I play these games out of order, or do you need to start at the first? I've been thinking of picking up one of the DS games.

I'd recommend starting with the first one, because content from earlier installments is sometimes brought up in later games, and it's just no fun to have a case spoiled for you.

No objections here. What's the conversion rate between WiiWare points and actual dollars?

1 US dollar = 100 Wii points, which means the Phoenix Wright games will be $10 apiece on WiiWare.

@Mr. Fister They're being sold per episode... so the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney game will cost $41 US via WiiWare.

You are mistaken, Mr. Mike. (Though given how many different schemes for porting and different pricing systems Capcom's taken on for these games, I think anyone would be confused.) They are charging $10 for each pack of 4 cases on the Wii. i.e. $10 for Ace Attorney, (sans the DS' bonus fifth case) $10 for Trials and Tribulations, and $10 for Justice for All, plus you can buy the DS bonus case for the first game for an additional $1. $31 for the first three games as they were on the DS, not $41 for the first alone, thank goodness.

What I will be curious to know is how they price them on iPhone.
