I actually think this is a smart move on Sonys part. The Ps3 gets a lot of shit for having "inferior" ports of multiplat games. You can argue about if it's the developers fault for being lazy, or sony's fault for not providing good dev support, or whatever. But the fact is the ports aren't as good on the PS3. If sony pitches in and fixes this, it's good for the whole platform.

You don´t need a guitar controller to play Guitar Hero games, but it´s kind of pointless with a regular controller.

Something to note about this week's update as well is that they've removed the Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days DLC that was released last week due to bugs and errors.

Wonder when they'll rerelease them.

Actually's what's weird, is the US demo of Bayonetta is acutally 400MB bigger than the Japanese. Why is that do you suppose??

I got the demo a couple weeks ago from a gamespot give away thing they were doing. I though the demos clock tower level was almost completely incoherent I had no idea what was going on i just mashed buttons, but the second level was AMAZING.

I thought I should point out that those $4.99 PSP games from D3 Publisher that are in today's update are NOT Minis. The PS Store does not have them under the Minis section, and the PS Blog's update does not list them as Minis, either. They are simply low-priced, small-sized, "normal" PSP games, like Numblast was. The tennis game, in particular, can do wireless 4-player matches, which would not be doable were it a Mini.

I poked around a bit and found that the two games were originally budget releases by D3 Publisher in Japan, under their Simple 2500 Portable series. They came out in early 2006, which I guess is the reasoning behind the price drop from 2500 yen to $5. As the PS2's Simple 2000 series includes titles with the same names developed by the same studios, these two may be ports. Incidentally, the Breakout descendant is from Tamsoft, of Toshinden and Oneechanbara fame.

The Bayonetta demo on the PS3 was cool. It felt as good as the 360 version but definitely looks more washed out and muted in detail and color. The boss fight however was different for the PS3 demo vs. 360's. The gameplay's intact and that's really all that matters. There are a lot of great PS1 classics now available which is good too!

I was pretty surprised in the difference in quality between the PS3 version and the 360 version. I love both systems, but there should never be that significant of a difference in the same game on two equally powerful consoles. I don't understand why some developers can make games look incredible on ps3 like uncharted but then others seem to have so much trouble getting a game to even run smoothly on the system.

You can't compare third party games to uncharted. Uncharted was made by Naughty Dog. They are owned by sony and worked closely with them to get their game working well for years. From what I've heard Sony doesn't give good tools to third party developers nor are they helpful in offering support in developing for their platform, which has a lot to do with third parties having trouble on the console. Sony took a risk when they made the PS3 using new architecture, and not every developer is good at using it, especially when sony is apparently lacking in support.
