I understand perspective, which is why when I first saw that picture they looked really messed up. I was just simply stating how they could look disturbing at a first glance.

I just want to say, this game is amazing. It's somewhat of my dream game. Splitscreen open world co-op without limitation that's also a FPS AND has rpg elements, that's almost literally what I would have described as my dream game.

The gameplay is great, the controls are tight, the sound and presentation are fantastic. This game is very close to perfect.

Just if it had a legitimate story, I'd agree with you. Otherwise it's pretty fun to play on and off. 43 Siren at the moment.

are you suggesting Borderlands is not original? or that making a sequel would put it on the same level of re-hash as the Call of Duty series?

either way you're wrong

I mean really, why does the PC have to always miss out on DLC? It is missing the DLC distribution infrastructure the consoles have?

I believe the explanation 'PC guys aren't stupid enough to pay for it' applies here.

They know you guys expect it free (and probably rightly so), therefore they don't release it?

It's always been that way. I don't agree with console makers setting these 60 dollar price points on games either, and more DLC should be free.

The problem is, a lot of the DLC on the PC is usually ad supported (or someone like nVidia or ATi supports it). The console manufacturers would want a cut of that.

the reason for DLC and $10 less for PC gamers is because a PC inherently costs a LOT more than an 360 or PS3... give the PC-ers a break, man!

No licensing fees for the PC is one reason why games are $10 less on PC than console. Funny how the PC version of the Collector's Edition of Mass Effect 2 is the same price as the regular copy for the 360 version at $59.99. : P

And those delicious Steam deals, mmmm.

I am willing to pay for the DLC by the way, look at Bethesda and how they released the Fallout 3 DLC through the Games for Windows LIVE Marketplace, do the same for other DLC like for Resident Evil 5, Prince of Persia, Arkham Asylum, etc!

@darth
So why wouldn't ATI/Nvidia support it on the consoles when, I believe, they both have a stake in respective consoles? I also haven't seen any DLC on pc that is ad-supported. Though I hardly claim to have played every DLC for every game ever.

My problem is that you said "rightly so" on your free DLC for pc gamers comment. So I wonder why it should be free. PC gamers get user created content. PC gamers, more often than not, get patching or free content for some games that never even show up on consoles. PC gamers get UI tweaks and other fun stuff. Do you even remember the original argument for the price point on console games going up? Now they're just doing it for the money (much like IW did with MW2 on PC).

I don't really care if PC games get the same content for free, though I don't specifically think it's fair. I do care that you seem to be under the impression that PC gamers are entitled to it.

I, as a PC gamer, don't feel entitled to free DLC. I just want my platform to be treated fairly just like the consoles and receive the DLC so I can purchase it. All too many times, the PC version of a multiplatform game does not get DLC nor a Collector's Edition the console versions do.

The only thing I may feel "entitled" to, what I like to expect is mod support from games where I can play the official DLC as well as custom user-created content. I am disappointed when a game is not mod friendly.

CoD4's Variety Map Pack was supported by nVidia, so it was free.

Then again, map packs for the PC don't do well when the game has a level creator (I doubt MW2 packs will be free...)

Hey now, PC gamers will pay for DLC. Well, at least this one will. Single-player content like the Fallout DLC's are well worth paying for, in my opinion, the same with things like Sins of a Solar Empire's micro-expansions.

PC gamers just wont pay for things we could get for free from the modding community, like maps or game-modes. Anyone who thinks they can strangle the mod community and force us to pay for that shit can get right fucked, not that I'm naming any names...

Anyway, my point is that I don't see why they wouldn't release Borderlands' DLC for the PC, since I don't see why we would be less likely to buy it than the console kiddies. But maybe I'm the odd one out who actually buys DLC for PC games.

Often times console manufacturers like Microsoft and Sony don't allow DLC to be free, and charge money for hosting services or something.
Or they're just being dickholes...
That's why I sold off my 360 and started buying most games for PC.

Give me one good reason why nVidia or ATi should sponsor anything on the consoles? Their market are PC gamers, not console gamers.

Darth has a point.

I would like to see Bungie even try to charge for maps, and force those who don't pay to play only certain gametypes on the PC.

That is why I love TF2 so much.

How long is the gameplay for Borderlands? I'm guessing that there is replay value for the 4 characters, but would somebody who barely casually plays rpgs be interested in this?

Shockingly, yes. Even replaying the game with a character you've already been is enjoyable, because the gameplay tweaks on the second playthrough add a level of crazy franticness that's hard to beat.
