The Saboteur's day-one DLC unlocks nudity, self-loathing

Here's at least one reason to buy your copy of The Saboteur new: All fresh copies of the game will ship with a code to download DLC, called "The Midnight Show," for free. The pack contains new Parisian hiding spots, a new minigame and, for better or for worse, the option to unlock nudity in the game.

If you buy the game sans code, you'll also be able to pick up the DLC for $2.99 / 240. But at that point, whether you'll admit it or not, you're basically paying to see digi-boobies ... and if you do that, we're just not sure we can be friends with you any more.

It's so obvious that the whole "Codes to Download DLC" on day one BS is just the stepping stone to selling us full games bit by bit.

Hardly, it's just a method to prevent losing money from used game sales. The stuff capcom pulled when it was on the disc and not a preorder or new bonus, now that yes would be a bad stepping stone. But this is just what's really just a silly little extra you get for not buying used.

Yeah, it's just the publishers way of screwing over the used game retailers.

This still isn't as bad as Dragon Age's "DLC if bought new" deal. Now THAT really WAS taking out a part of the game with a scalpel and essentially ransoming it.

i can live with that. Especially with something like Bioware where it's a company i definitely want more games from, or Pandemic where I hope some of the fired employees will get at least a small amount of money from this game. I prefer to buy games new anyway, and if i get what is essentially free DLC, even better. Sure, the stone prisoner was a pretty big thing to cut out of the game, but then that's just even more reason to buy it.

Hey, at least you can watch digital boobies WHENEVER you want. Unlike having a girlfriend who doesn't always have her boobies 24/7 available.

Since the studio is now out of builsness this is a great way to go out with a bang because even if people try to sue they'll be nowhere to be found.

That's probably the most worthwhile DLC pre-order bonus I've seen!

I'm not sure if I like this new tactic EA's doing. Sure, I don't mind if they release free day 1 DLC for ME2 like they did with dragon age, because I'm going to buy that game new.

But if I'm just gameflying a game, like Saboteur, I don't want to miss out on actual content because I'm just renting. Thankfully, it's just a nudi-patch so it doesn't bother me missing out, but I could definitely see this as a slippery slope EA's treading.

That was one of the most memorable April Fool's Day gags I'd ever read.

Dammit I tried so hard to get that thing to work. So many different variations to the methods and hours of fail misery.

Here's the question: will the moral outrage hit before or after the game ships? Me thinks they added it as DLC so they can pull the plug as soon as the media gets wind of this.

What dumb fuck excuse for a parent buys an 8 year old a rated M game anyways?

Like...seriously...

What game can you use dismembered limbs as drum sticks? That's not mean spirited - I want to play such a bad ass game! "I'm gonna rip off your arms and play a kick ass drum solo as you bleed to death!"
