terrorist? REALLY? but yes it isn't only because we are fucking awesome, it's also because the our government recognizes the importance of the gaming industry and the jobs that go with it, thus providing the necessary tax incentives to secure new offices! It's also because we are fucking fantastic and they like to party with us and drink are awesome beer.

Why are they terrorists?

Canada was offering big tax credits in an attempt to attract more 'tech' jobs. It's one of the reasons for Ubisoft Montreal.

You can't get decent french fries with mayo in the US.

That's why.

How many major publishers have studios in Montreal now? Even if its only Ubisoft, EA, and THQ, that's a pretty damn impressive number. Its always nice to hear about studio openings.

No, but you can get decent ranch and pizza fries (at least you can here-I love Eegees)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eegee%27s

Guess they're AZ only. Some of the best damn slushies around.

Szayel Aporro Grantz is very much right,
I can see the board room now-
Suit 1 "OK guys where do you want to take the new division? New York?, Miami?"
Suit 2" How about Montreal?"
Suit 1 " Montreal?"
Suit 2 "yeah, the love to party, and they have crazy hot women"
Suit 1 "I'll be in Montreal"

Montreal is one of the most beautiful cities in Canada, everything is in walking distance, greater nightlife, perfect women (for the most part) and great attitude.

I get out to Montreal at least once a year.

good luck THQ

Ranch and pizza fries, huh?

Doesn't sound too bad. I'll still prefer fried green beans with ranch, though. =P

I've thought about moving to Canada.

But I still love my America. For now.

The Motherland is always calling, though.

Is there some way that I can ignore you? It's not really the content of the posts.. I don't care one way or another, its the frigging volume. No one can talk that much and have anything meaningful to say.

Yea Ghen.

It's called not reading his posts.

Or go to Kotaku, Joystiq's community doesn't need to be made any shittier.

Actually I'm sorry Ghen (I'm not being sarcastic), I probably shouldn't be so harsh on Joystiq.

It's just pissing me off that he's getting downvoted simply for for posting. If there was a good reason behind it I would understand but this is just unacceptable.

The downvotes have mostly stopped (the anti-people made themselves just look like jackasses) Don't worry about it too much.

Though I do have to wonder if all these 'I hate Darth' people are the same person. They all have similar habits.

To give yall idea of the scale of the tax breaks up here:

"(CP) Nov 12, 2009, HALIFAX, N.S. — Nova Scotia's business development agency is offering financial assistance to bring a New York-based video game developer to Halifax.

Longtail Studios plans to create up to 60 jobs over the next five years. The province, through Nova Scotia Business Inc., is providing a five-year payroll rebate to a maximum of $1,077,397.

Longtail Studios develops games for the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS."

Good for them and all but I don't think I have played a THQ title for a long time, nor do I plan on playing one anytime soon. I know DoW is good but I'm a console person, and none of their games really stand out to me.

So the U.S. is allowed to give incentives for businesses to open up, but Canada isn't?
