Team17 has announced that the first episode of its upcoming shooter, Alien Breed Evolution, will arrive on Xbox Live Arcade on Wednesday, December 16. The first of three planned episodes, the game will offer both single-player and co-op play. Team17 revealed earlier this year that each episode would contain a prologue and five full levels, lasting roughly five to eight hours altogether. Each episode will also include a cooperative battle mode. The first episode has been priced at 800 ($10).

I wish these recreations included the original games, though. I've not played the original in forever... it'd be nice to give players both to compare. You have to imagine it wouldn't take up much space.
Quite off-topic, but I'm reminded of Wolfenstein 3D's 150MB size... All because it included a trailer for the abysmal Raven Software revamp.
The old games couldn't possibly add more than a few MB to to total size, shame games like Ultimate Ghosts & Goblins, Bionic Commando: Rearmed, Worms HD, and Lemmings left out their originals.
I was looking for something good (and of the AAA variety) to hit XBLA this holiday - it just seemed that after the Summer of Arcade, the quality of most releases dropped out of the bottom. Seeing that we are getting a remake/sequel to a classic like Alien Breed, and it's coming out in just another week, well that certainly has me jazzed. Time to use up the rest of my space bucks for 2009.
