We know how hard it can be to expend precious energy on something as trivial as a keyboard – we spend all day doing exactly that! So it's with proud, near-jubilant excitement that we bring you news of the gaming glove "Peregrine," which allows for keyboard-free game playing, becoming available for pre-order.
It's not exactly equipped to handle twitch shooters: the Peregrine was made with MMOs in mind. Rather than push down all those pesky keyboard buttons, it allows for up to 40 different configurable movements instead.The $129 device (that's if you pre-order -- it'll be $149 otherwise) runs on USB and will connect as a keyboard, so compatibility shouldn't be too much of an issue.
You can quit writing your Power Glove 2.0 fanfic right now – this ain't it. We do, however, expect to see a YouTube-derived sequel to The Wizard around the end of January, when the first pre-orders are expected to ship to consumers. Get on that, internet!

@Dr. Orpheus
Unfortunately that, my friend, is the past. Another failed idea that should have stayed dead.

It looks like the "Wi-i" as used by Alan Partridge at Steve Coogan's most recent live tour. Anyone else know what I'm on about? A-ha!

This was at PAX09 and I had a chance to use it playing Starcraft, it is actually quite handy and I can see it becoming part of normal use in gaming.
Although it does have quite a learning curve.

The only time I want to hear about a glove taking over the space of a computer keyboard is when they develop a specialized pair of gloves that project a holographic keyboard you can sync up with any computer and use to type and control it.
Until then, these power gloves gotta die

Don't even insult the powerglove by making the comparison ...... the powerglove used bend sensors which at the time were expensive and still are rather expensive when compared to other sensors. As well as motion tracking, be it with some sort of arcane sonic sensor setup which today would be accomplished with one or two internal 3-axis accelerometers.
I went to their sight and watched their video....
This thing uses three touch sensors and conductive fabric woven into it, so its probably $11 worth of parts, if that....... at $140+ a pop. That ends up being the direct equivelant of pressing a button...... seriously if they wanted to charge like $60 I could see that, I can also see that in the bargain bin at any computer store that opts to carry it for 19.99 in about a year.

Just make the glove rumble and call it "The Stranger" and you'll sell millions.
