If you consider the daily crossword puzzle a suitable mental exercise routine, then, buddy, you've got it all wrong. That's child's play for baby brains and yours needs a bit more stimulation than that. Thankfully, GoG.com is here to put a few wrinkles in all the right spots, as it's announced Cyan Worlds' beloved Myst series is coming to its library of DRM-free titles.
You can actually check out Myst: Masterpiece Edition right now for $5.99, but you'll have to wait a bit for Riven: The Sequel to Myst and The Manhole: Masterpiece Edition -- the latter of which is admittedly not part of Myst canon, but comes from the Myst creators and should interest fans nonetheless. Both will also be priced at $5.99 and can be yours "soon."

You've got to be kidding. Myst was crap when it was released and all these years later it's just that much worse.

Wow this brings back memories. Painful memories of confusion and rage and bladder pressure. Good times.

realMyst is basically Myst but with N64-quality 3D graphics. Moving around feels like an FPS without the gun.
Honestly, Masterpiece Edition was better (which is why it's always included in anthology releases instead of realMyst) however, I think we're overdue for a Myst: Master-Masterpiece Edition with 1920x1080 prerendered graphics.

RealMYST is the ONLY way i play this game. with current age systems you can max out the graphics and the game looks GORGEOUS. the water effects are still some of the best i've seen. same with URU. I was shocked with how good it looked when i played it a year ago.
seriously, track it down and try it out.

A few wrinkles in all the right spots, eh? I don't know about the "Masterpiece Edition," but I know you could beat the original release in 8 steps...

I used to play myst type games back when I was a kyd. There was a cooler one than myst called something like the gate or something lyke that. You had to sneek into an old castle and fynd some shyt out. You got items like zip guns and darts but it was still a prerendered world.

The Windows versions will still run. I played Riven DVD Edition on Windows 7 a few weeks ago.
