Or you could just back up your PS3 to an external, swap in the new drive, and then restore. Worked just fine for me and I didn't have to redownload anything

Or just use your PS3's drive for gaming and connect a 1TB drive for media etc. I just bought an external iomega 1TB drive for $80. Plus, this way I can organize folders for videos/music using my PC. I love my PS3, but its media sorting capabilities are terrible.

I dont use my PS3's HDD for music or Videos (just some PSN videos) since i use my PC as a Media Server. I should buy a 500 GB HDD tho and get of course an 80 GB External Drive to Back every damn game. Wish i could buy HDD so cheap as u guys said, but down here (Argentina, as u can see thru my lame English) things are a lil bit more expensive...

Upgrade process is painless and easy. I had the 60 GB and upgraded about 2 years ago to 200+ GB's and I've got like 60 GB's left and have never even thought of deleting a single demo or game file. It took all of 30 minutes to do it from start to finish. I just backed up everything the night before, swapped out the HDD, restored it and was done.

Some of the JP games, while being 2d have some epic storylines and details in the games. I can remember some old RPG's that were 2 disk, top down scroller. Not to mention the recent "Valkyria Chronicles" That game was just scary with the extra content that wasn't directly game related.

Sorry, couldn't tell you. It's at the bottom of my backlog mountain at the moment. All I know is that it has an optional install of ~4GB and the music at the title screen is extremely annoying. Plus it has no trophies because it's an old game. I wonder if Aksys will be adding trophies like NISA did with Cross Edge?

This is Metal Gear Solid 4 levels of resistance to decompression. There is no way that this game is compressed and still carries that much data.
