Rock Band Weekly: Slipknot, Simon & Garfunkel, Lights Resolve

Harmonix and MTV Games are dropping a couple of classic Simon & Garfunkel tracks alongside the first Slipknot track pack this coming week as DLC, appealing to that very specific crossover niche of people who like 30-year-old folk music yet like to go blackout partying on the weekends. Take out your terrifying masks and acoustic guitars, folks. It's going to be a weird one. Check out all the tracks for the upcoming week after the break.

Wow. Well, it's about time, although I know Duality is one of their more mainstream songs, and it's not actually bad, I do wish that they included People=Sh*T, or Wait and Bleed. Still, it's a start.

I'm not farmiliar with those Simon and Garfunkel tracks, what albums were those on?

Man, I lost my taste for Slipknot when they came out with Duality. But, if they had most of the tracks from Iowa and M.F.K.R., I'd buy in a heartbeat.

as much as i've grown out of listening to slipknot...
I want to play the songs because Joey Jordinson, their drummer is very good.
The two side clowns don't count though. 9 people in one band when 2 of them are DJ's and 2 of them are backup vocals / percussionists, is a little much.

I was fully expecting them to throw in Before I Forget, if for no other reason than to take another off of the GH list. Well played HMX, well played... And Slipknot beats Abnormality and Megasus. How about some Dethklok? It seems long overdue. DETHKLOK!!!!!

Honestly, Nimrod/Dookie Green Day was legitimately good, I have no idea why they don't release tracks from those.

Green Day doesn't want to admit that they're not as good as they used to be, or maybe even think their newer stuff is better and more representative.

How are Slipknot not real metal. They are. Simple. Just because you don't like them and feel your too old for them doesn't make them any less good. They haven't been around 10years (since debut self titled album) and got 2 platinum albums from being shit

They're not real metal because they're nu-metal. Simple.

I'm always curious what kind of metal people listen to when they say this. People say "real" metal and they mean anything that can span from screamo to older metal bands.

Lots of bands hang around for more than a decade and go platinum selling shit. Shit sells. (But who's buying?)

nu metal is still a form of metal. You may hate it, but others like it.

And I go one more week w/o any DLC. Simon and Garfunkel aren't bad, but in no way is that my type of music. And Slipknot... Just... no.

Those are two awesome S&G songs. Of course there are a lot of other great ones, but I cannot complain at all. "I Am A Rock" may not be their best known song, but it's classic S&G and really grows on you, and "The Sounds of Silence" is their breakthrough song - probably the single best song they could have picked!

Update needs less Slipknot and more Stone Sour.

Personally i want some Morbid Saint, but it is highly unlikely.
