"a game that, unlike Heavy Rain, is Dragon's Lair."
Lol. Every game is [insert name here], unlike Heavy Rain.

Also, this is the one true way to play DL: http://www.digitalleisure.com/contents/DVDRom_games.htm#dlHD

Congratulations!!!

Now with the obligatory port of dragons lair the iPhone can officially think of itself as a game system, not saying the port is a "good thing" but it seems like every game system under the sun has to have it by law or something =P

Space Ace is on the iPhone?? Had no idea. Surprised they ported that one before Dragon's Lair, which I think has been ported just about about every platform. Unfortunately, outside of the arcade version, none of ports have been that much fun to play. It really didn't translate well. And Space Ace, was among the most frustrating laser disc games ever because you had to be so precise in your timing.

I feel its worth mentioning that the Wikipedia page has an entry for a PSP version as well, and it contains a small bit of info under "other notes".

This release will have additional tweaks not present in previous versions. For instance, this version will have new additional scenes, a castle map that displays the player's progress and five lives per player instead of three.

You've obviously never played the original. You have very little control. Essentially, you indicate one of four directions on the directional pad at just the right time, and then one of four ten-second cut sequences occur--three of which will end in your death.

Sorry, even back in the day, this game sucked. It's only claim to fame was that it was the first arcade based on an optical disk storage medium.

Speak for yourself please. Every arcade in NYC had 2-3 cabinets of this game with lines and quarters placed all over the cabinet! So I think you should have added "IMO" to your post.

@REP96st: I agree. And, contrary to what Stromm says, its "only claim to fame" wasn't that it used an optical disk storage. It was famous for it's graphics and sound. It had full motion video with real voices, sound effects and musical score. When you saw this in arcades alongside the sprite or vector graphics based games of the time, which had little more than bleeps & bloops for sound, it blew your mind. While it lacked in the amount of control the player had, that didn't stop people from coming back for more.
And, like it or not, it had a huge amount of influence on video games. In addition to pushing the limits of graphics and sound design, it also pioneered the use of what later became known as "quicktime events."
