Not much of a travel story, but whatever.

Last minute decision to go shopping in the States. Drove for a few hours going south at 10 pm; didn't get there until 1 or 2 am. Oh well, all worth it for the outlet malls and GameStops of course.

Flew into Ireland thinking that the converter I bought would work perfectly with my DS. It didn't. I looked around forever trying to find a DSphat/SP charger in an Ireland toystore- they didn't have it. So, I trying to conserve as much battery as I could, on the 3rd day we drove into Dublin. Luckily, they had AMERICAN electrical outlets. I finally got to charge me DS and continue Professor LAyton #1.

That time I went to india back in the year 2000. It was just me, my gameboy color, gold version, and a ton of batteries. My mission: Catch Marril from that mountain after the ghost gym leader.

Unfortunately, my plan fell through since I didn't bring enough batteries and it was hard to find some decent ones in the village I was staying at ( plus my parents at the time wouldn't get me more since I was spending most of my vacation on that little game). Its too bad I never got the marril.

It was Christmas day and most of the presents had been open. This was the Christmas that was post-Wii release. My parents had been searching for a Wii throughout almost every store in the state. Having no immediate luck, I assumed I would have to wait for a month or so for one. Anyway, back to Christmas Day.

I was told by my father to go put a bag of trash outside, so I ventured outside the living room. When I came back suspicious looks faced my way. A little confused I scanned the room for any relation. Sure enough a neatly wrapped box lay on the couch. I darted towards it and tore the reindeer paper clean off. The Wii logo shined as I picked the box up. I quickly unboxed it and connected it to the tv. The next 8 hours consisted of Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and happiness.

Unfortunately that was the last 8+ straight hours of Wii game time I ever spent.

Last year I remember flying into christmas :]
I was on a plane from California all the way to Florida on Christmas Eve. I was playing Animal Crossing on my DS and then all the celebrations started in my AC town (neighbors we're wishing me a merry christmas, santa passed by ;D) and I then realized we were right over Florida which is 3hrs ahead of California. I flew into Christmas day =]

My best holiday travel story is my best one because it's full of firsts. It was the first time my family didn't spend Christmas in our hometown with my dad's extended family. It was the first time I went to the movies on a holiday. And it was the first time I got to see my cousin's wife and baby.

When I was a kid, we traveled by plane a LOT (all our family is in the US, but we lived in Indonesia because my dad worked in a mine there), and my brother and I each had a gameboy (yes, the grey bricks). We also had a carrying case each, and we split the games between us for carrying. Sadly, one year, I left my case in an airport :( Fortunately, I was taking my gameboy out, so I was holding that when I forgot the case, but all the games that were in it were lost for all time.

They were mostly the games I liked, but I still felt terrible for losing games I shared with my brother. To this day, I have no idea what continent they were even on.

A college buddy was getting married and I was the best man along with two other of our friends from college. Well it was a modified catholic service so we sat for much of it....and myself and the other groomsmen proceeded to play Mario Kart on the DS while seated. The bride would of never known if I would of paid more attention. She got a tad upset when she had to ask if her wedding was bothering our game and if I could pause and bring her the ring.

Upon retrospect I should of said something other than "Can it wait a minute, this match is almost over and I am winning."

I have a similar story. My brother and I opened our gifts one Christmas morning, he got Pokemon Blue, I got Red. Traditionally, after presents and breakfast, my family hits the road and drives all over Jersey (we're from PA). The entire time my brother and I are playing these games. He chose Squirtle, I chose Bulbasaur (one repeat playings I always take the Fire type now), and I remember after hours of driving up and down the Garden State, I had made it through Mount Moon and was raising a Magikarp I bought from some guy to become a Gyarados (I had seen one evolve in the show and wanted one bad). Best Christmas travelling ever.

Not really an impressive story, but I once vomited all over the back seat of my parents car while traveling for thanksgiving. In highschool I was really into DDR and could not get enough. i ended up buying a $150 travel screen that sat ontop of the PS3 so I could play DDR with a controller on the way. Less then 30 mins in the arrows scrolling up the screen plus the road scrolling past wrecked my equilibrium and insta-vomit all over the place! Needless to say, I didnt play anymore games for the remainder of the trip. Waste of $150... :(
