This has to be the most endearing display of cross-developer love we've seen during our games writing careers. Capcom's Shawn Baxter (a.k.a. "Snow,") recently posted on the company's community blog about his latest D.I.Y. project -- a real-life version of Fortune's Tower, one of the pub games featured in Fable II. Oh, and in Fable II Pub Games, though you probably didn't need us to tell you that.
Words can't really describe this two-month, $400 project as well as pictures, so hop on over to Capcom's blog and check out the delectable fruits of Baxter's labor. If you're of a crafty ilk, the post also contains a few blueprints you can follow to make your own Fortune's Tower set. We probably won't post about yours, though. This is a one-time thing.

i cant imagine how he could fit all the possible pictures on two sides of a disc, he'd have to use 20 sided dice or something

Why not? It's like Ben Heck's hardware mods. If you've got the talent, use it.

ben heck is WAY different. he makes really cool things out of existing ones like PS360 laptops. he makes really cool mods for disabled people too. the things he do are really useful all around.
not saying this project isn't cool though. it is. $400 is a bit much, but if you have the money, why not?

If you read the blog post, he didn't make all of this by himself, he only made the bags and painted the carved "Fable" on top. The other stuff was created by others he knew and contracted to help. Which is where I assume most of the $400 was spent. Material alone wouldn't have cost that much.

I think I will stick with the digital Fable Pub Games arcade game. Screw that board games stuff.
