There's a good reason why we never went into late-night comedy: We really didn't want to compete against lanky comic genius Conan O' Brien. We thought writing about (and, more often than not, making fun of) video games would be a career path where we'd never have to compete with the gargantuan Irish host -- unfortunately, in a recent episode of Late Night, Conan managed to encroach on our territory, making a joke at the expense of the recently released (and tepidly received) Avatar: The Game.
Check out the video of Conan's gag after the jump while we consider another career choice -- one that will definitely be devoid of Conan competition. (We're thinking about horse whispering. Seems pretty safe, right?)

Oh dude it's not nearly as bad as Bleach. A show about angels and bringers of death, yet no one fucking dies.

This game is getting so much attention for being mediocre because it's based off an extremely high budget Triple A movie produced by James Cameron. People are expecting great things from the movie, and may see it as an unfortunate premonition for the quality of the movie itself. Not to mention the fact that games nowadays have a higher bar set for them, are $60 a pop, and have to compete with games such as Batman "Arkham Asylum" which were inspired by movies but have still been able to hold their own.

hahha.... loved the end "No Refunds"
I know some hate Conan and wish he'd return to 12:35 slot but to me it free's me up to watch him at 11:35 and then Craig Ferguson at 12:35.. hehe Just hate when I see Conan though holding back his sarcastic witt due to the time slot. This was seen when he interviewed um Spencer and Hedie, I just wished he was allowed to rip into them like Seth Green was though he to held back.

I do think Seth Green held back, too, but you probably couldn't air what Conan, Andy, or Seth were thinking 99% of the time that train wreck interview was happening. Seth's incredible wit went over those two morons' heads, which was worth suffering through listening to the dumbest people I've ever seen.

Floppy robot fighting would probably be better than the game they actually released.

It wasn't an episode of Late Night, it's The Tonight Show. Joystiq is clearly full of letterman fanboys. U R BiAS ;P

Conan O' Brien is much funnier since he's moved to California, I use to stop watching him after Andy Richter was no longer his sidekick, but on occasion some of my friends said I have to check out this episode and he did have a few great ones.
His bit with the game Avatar using wireframe fighting was hilarious and the game which has a nice look to it, blows anyways. I'm still shocked how Ubisoft could actually make such a low scoring game when there a A class studio, it was just shocking...but I guess it happens to the best of companies.
So I think he is review was pretty dead on, but again this is my opinion.

Have I been transported to some alternate universe where people actually think Conan O'brien is funny/talented?
