The difference is that Mirrors Edge was an experiment, and a play style that had never been done before. Dead Space took Resident Evil 4 play mechanics, improved them, and then set it in space. It turned out great, but it's not the same as essentially inventing a new genre. By the way, Resident Evil 5 is anything but scary.

I thought mirrors edge was awesome, despite it's flaws. I can't wait for a sequel that will fix it's flaws and improve the already fantastic free running mechanics.

EA can focus on Dead Space 2 AND Mirrors Edge 2. The original games were both made by completely different studios, and the sequels will be too. They don't interfere with each other, so stop complaining.

I never played RE4. Does it really play like Dead Space? If so, I'll have to get it, because I loved Dead space.

You mentioned Battlefield BC2, you do realize that was made by the same studio that made Mirrors Edge right?

"Dead Space took Resident Evil 4 play mechanics, improved them, and then set it in space."

Jesus. The game was called System Shock 2. Dead Space is a gory, nearly strait-up remake, sans Shodan. It's a very good one though.

Mirror's Edge played very much like an experiment, with a bland setting, characters and story. I might buy the sequel if it is in a completely different setting with the same mechanics. "Derp I fight the corporate police state!" angry teenager stuff was embarrassing.

it doesn't matter who he is right now since he isn't trolling. when he starts (notice i didn't say 'if'), then you'll either figure out or you'll be told.

@Pimliconite. You're right when you're talking about setting and story, but I was talking about game mechanics. System shock 2 plays like any first person shooter. Dead Space plays like Resident Evil 4. It's in third person. You move around and then press a button to aim. Most actions are slow and you have to place each shot carefully. While story and atmosphere wise Dead Space is very similar to System Shock 2, gameplay wise the only similarities are shooting and having an inventory system.

Can't really disagree with you on Mirrors Edge and it's setting and story. But I didn't really care, it was a blast to play anyways. I play games to have fun, and while a good story is always appreciated, movies and books are usually better sources for a good story.

I know. Just find it pretty uncool that our tip didnt warrant a credit. We provided the very same guide used and translation. More than once. As a small site, any linking to is very much appreciated and this is pretty messed up.

This is my most anticipated game right now. With the exception of shooting asteroids, I thought Dead Space was perfect. I'm currently on my 5th playthrough, and still love it. I've been gaming since I was big enough to pick up an NES controller, and Dead Space is honestly my favorite game I've ever played. That may sound silly or niave to some, but DS is exactly the kind of game I love. As long as they don't drastically change the formula, I don't think it's possible for Dead Space 2 to really disappoint me.

I'll be working on a new, hopefully neater, more complete one by the time I finish the second game. I'm also not part of Hell Decent, actually. (Though they do great work. Good fans of the genre.)

That's cool how the baby on the right makes a 2.I hope that if they put MP into it, they leave it separated from the SP, and they make the atmosphere bigger because dead space was placed on the great and magnificent ishimura but you always had to go through the same hallways everytime. Other than that, I am dreaming the day when dead space 2 is in my hands!

Anyone notice that in the middle of the whole blot, the white outline is pretty much the same shape as the monument Artifact??
