Dead Space 2 announced for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360
113
Do us a favor and read the following sentence really slowly -- seriously, savor it. It's been hinted and teased at enough to give the world's remaining necromorphs a heart attack, but Dead Space 2 has finally been officially announced for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Now, you might be wondering why you had to take your time with that easily understandable sentence. Well ... we don't really have anything else to tell you. It's still Visceral, it's still Isaac Clark, it's still the necromorph invasion. We don't even have a release window. The best thing EA has to say is, "Survival isn't the only thing on Isaac's mind in Dead Space 2 – this time, he calls the shots," which makes it sound like our engineer protagonist dumped his abusive boyfriend and moved to the big city to work in an office pool with Dolly Parton and Morgan Fairchild.
... Actually, that sounds pretty good.

Isaac should hook up with Dead Space Girl and then it can become a love story... With necromorphs!

I actually found it on clearance at Target for 9 bucks a couple of weeks ago. I haven't played it yet, though. It'll be a christmas present to myself. (I have waaay too much stuff to battle through first)

imo RE5> Dead Space but not by much. Both good titles but neither game was great.

Dead Space is yet another example of a western dev overtaking a japanese dev. RE5 was complete garbage, and dead space was a pretty solid and entertaining game.
The torch has been passed to the west in yet another genre.

I still don't get why people justify the crappy controls on RE5. No it isn't the moving and shooting part, it is all the other crap. Co-op is the only saving grace.
Dead Space just obliterated RE5 in every imaginable way: graphics, gameplay, story, etc... It was the better survival horror game... wait, I forgot the RE5 is no longer survival horror, and now a mediocre third person action game.

I gotta say this is a title that I am more excited for then I ever thought I would be. I wasn't excited at all for the first and had someone told me that the sequel would be one of the most anticipated games of 2010 I would have laughed.
I am actually hoping this will bring the survival horror genre back to video games because there was a point in time where it was a little over saturated, but I think it's time to make a come back. Dead Space has shown that it can be done so RE really has no excuse for it's rather lack luster experience anymore.
I have to say tho, Isaac is probably going to be like, "Why the fuck is this shit happening to me so much". The poor guy has been through a lot.

Joystiq spent hours and hours, bag after bag of cheetos to get this "just right".
You think you can just muscle in on their snack/photo-editing time??!!

You do know what isn't really the Dead Space 2 cover art or even an official art by EA, right?
Also as much as L4D is fun, its not scary at all. The Necromorphes at least startled me a few times. And the game had a REAL single player campain. These days its an act of zeus, that a single player campain isn't just a narrated training campain for the multiplayer.
