Charity's great, but we've always said that the best kind of giving is where you also get something in return. That's what makes A Gamer's Alphabet such a great purchase. Not only will you be helping to raise money for Marisa's Bunny, which raises awareness of Infantile Spasms, but, more importantly, you'll get something out of the deal, a lovely book that gives every letter a gamer slant.
Ahh, giving with the anticipation of getting. It's kind of amazing that some 2010 years after Jesus came to Earth from space, we still remember his teachings so well.

Jesus is Easter, silly. Christmas is about getting presents in remembrance of Santa Claus who was crucified for our sins.

@melloncollie
I second that.
@internetjesus
Maybe I'm not gamer enough for your standards, but how many people actually use the term aggro? I had to search it up, and the first website was this http://www.wowwiki.com/Aggro
now if you think that in order to be a real gamer, you need to play WOW or use the word aggro, you got some priorities to start rethinking.
Just to bring it all back:
Z is for ZING, cuz you just got served sucka!

Do I want this, or do I want that Oscar Mike T-Shirt....mmm....
I'm going to have to go for the Oscar Mike T-Shirt, if only because I refuse to admit that I've never heard of Infantile Spasms before.

Well, although sarcastic, that's still somewhat true. You give devotion and expect not to suffer eternal torment at the hands of God's sadistic firstborn. Hey, at least Santa doesn't threaten you with the undying fires of hell.

T is for Thief, who stole 40 cakes. Forty cakes! That's as much as four tens. And that's terrible.

Hello.
I'm the person that compiled the list of terms for the volunteer artists to choose from. The letters were assigned randomly, as some letters had many more possibilities than others. Each artist got a few terms to choose from. The terms that made it onto the list were those that were recognizable to most gamers even if they might refer to your not-favorite genre. Aggro was indeed in use long before WOW.
Infantile spasms is a very serious form of childhood epilepsy that often leaves its victims profoundly disabled. That's the case with Marissa. If you care to visit Marissa's dad's blog at www.marissasbunny.com, I suggest you start at the beginning. Her dad is articulate, dedicated, pro-active, and a stone gamer. :)
The travels of Fairfax Rabbit are chronicled; Fairfax is Marissa's Bunny, and he travels the world to raise awareness. Early diagnosis is the key to any hope for these children. You could see pictures of Fairfax at NASA, Bungie, Fenway Park, Paris, London, people's homes, and on and on.
Thank you, Joystiq; it means a lot that you care.

Awesome cause, I really am hoping the best for you guys. Just so ya know, this book needs no defending for its gamerness; it's straight up awesome and visually entertaining to look at as well. Great job!
Also, did internetjesus' comments get deleted. It would make sense to me because it was a stupid ass comment... but it just makes my comments look like rants from an old man on a park bench to the nearest pigeon.

Thank you both for your encouragement. We've no doubts on the book's "gamerness"; the terms were heavily vetted by gamers with a lot of experience and a wide range of knowledge.
If you choose to, it would be wonderful if you'd promote the little book. Raising awareness can go exponential through efforts by people like yourselves. :)

Thanks to everybody for stopping by! Even if you don't get a book, please do read up a little about the disease. It's not terribly well known, and often misdiagnosed as something more benign.
Early diagnosis is the key to any kind of meaningful treatment, and even that's not a guarantee.

..."It's kind of amazing that some 2010 years after Jesus came to Earth from space, we still remember his teachings so well."
1. in the nt (new testament) there is only about 20 minutes content of Christ's actual Teachings from his 1 to 3 yrs ministry.
More than half the nt is saul's dogma, btw saul (aka paul) was NEITHER a Disciple of Christ NOR a Prophet from G; saul's dogma is NOT scripture though it IS misrepresented as Christ's Teachings.
2. neither Christ's mother nor ANY of his disciples never ever called him "gezus" they called him Yeshua (Joshua [with an english accent]). jesus is the gentile nickname for Christ.
