I didn't know much about the type of gameplay or feel this game would have and I'm not a fan of what I just saw. I'm going to assume that it's an open world action game and thats typically a bad formula for SE.

I would tend to agree, but this game just looks too neat. The actual fighting mechanics seem to be smooth.

@johnnynumber5

I think Mr.ESC is referring to the Boy and his Blob NES game that was released a week or two ago on VC (which is why he mistakenly said Wiiware), not the recent Wii game by Wayfoward.

johnnynumber5 you make it sound like Dead space extraction only sold 9000 altogether.. instead of it only sold 9000 copies from September 29 to Oct 3. But you knew that right?

Two things:
1. Why can't Movie-Announcer Guy retire already? Anytime I see a trailer or preview start with that godforsaken voice it makes it very hard for me to take seriously.

2. I really wish that Square-Enix would have had the good sense to choose a shorter title. What happens when they do a spin-off from this? "Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers: The Final Chronicle"? Dear god...

Also, I should point out that I AM very excited for this game, despite my inherent cynicism.

Well in that case, I wish the entertainment industry would just abstain from using Movie-Announcer Guy-esque voices. Hell, they could say they're doing it out of respect for the original, I don't care. I just can't take it seriously anymore. Am I alone on this one?

Don LaFontaine (Movie-Announcer Guy) is already dead. So much for forcing him to retire huh? And even if he is alive he couldn't care less about what you think, not when producers are bending over for his voice at the rate of 30,000 dollars per minute.

Nope, you're not alone, the rest of us just don't give a sh!t who's voicing trailers and feel the need to force said talent or style to retire.

Ok, I love the crystal chronicles games, but this one is odd. FF:CC was a differnet style of FF, and it continued that way for a while. Now this one seems to be the bastard child of the modern final fantasy games and with the crystal chronicles characters/story.

Actually ESC. A boy and his Blob is a retail Wii game:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Boy_and_His_Blob_(2009_video_game)

And if you haven't played Tales of Syphonia on the GC, you're missing out on what i believe is the greatest RPG of all time.

does anybody else find it weird that a game with "FINAL" in the title has about nineteen hundred games in it's franchise?

Final Fantasy was developed during Square's brush with bankruptcy in 1987, and in a display of gallows humor, director Hironobu Sakaguchi declared that his "final" game would be a "fantasy" role-playing game; hence the title.

It's the irony working there... Final Fantasy was supposed to be the last game from Squaresoft (they were doing awful), hence the word 'Final' in its name.

Somehow I managed to have 3 nearby friends who each owned a GBA, the adapter cable and had a whole lot of free time when it came out; and yes, with the right equipment FFCC was an incredibly fun game. I must've played through the whole thing a good 2-3 times.

The graphics are quite shocking, I was interested then until I saw them.
FFXII however much I didn't like the game had ALOT better graphics than this and that was how many years ago?
Disappointing..
Another case of laziness by people developing for the Wii...

Please please please have a Japanese language option, if the dubs in this trailer are anything to go by.
Also, this seems to have a very tenuous hold on the first Chrystal Chronicles. o.-
