That would be AWESOME.

Viewtiful Joe was the first game I ever felt the need to import to get it early. Thankfully all the dialog was spoken in english.

Shame this guy didn't get a chance to make an Okami sequel on a platform that could've done the game justice.

Now it gets to rot on the DS.

Nice.

The DS is awesome. Even Assassins Creed II received some nice reviews. Check it out, and stop bitching.

Must... resist... urge... to hate on DS!

BAH! Other than Pokemon, Zelda and the occasional Mario title there's really not much worth owning a DS for! I still got my old DS Phat but sold my DSi cause it wasn't really worth the money.

Chrono Trigger DS combined the goodness of the SNES version with the cutscenes from the PS1 version, and had no load times.

That makes it the definitive version, wouldn't you say?

But I hope he gets to make another Viewtiful Joe, those games were a blast back in the day.

It's really sad how the system works.

Clover studios for all intents and purposes should have rocked the world and bathed in piles of money. Yet they closed down. I guess people just wanted more mindless 'The Sims' clones, Rockband and games with achievements given to them on a plate where they don't need to think anymore.

And now he walks away from the whole thing with the rights to his creations in the hands of some corp that's just going to whore out the IP for more money.

Just got to love the entertainment industry.

Eh, the world sucks like that. Oh well. Would have been nice if he gained right to his creations.

But he left Capcom right? If so, he probably did knowing the consequences.

Well often for designers the choices are:

a) Stay with a soul sucking company that is going to rape your creative input and mash it into something more acceptable to the gibbering morons making up 'mass market'.

b) Leave the company and try somewhere else, while STILL leaving your treasured creations to be wrecked by a bunch of suits and marketers.

Neither choice is particularly pleasant.

I loved Okami, but it was entirely too long for such a simple action game. I'm hoping Okamiden can manage to rectify a few of the flaws of the original, as well as tighten everything up into a easily digestible size and length.

There was a part 2 on the GC & PS2 as well as the Red Hot Rumble and Double Trouble for the PSP and DS, respectively.

No, it's just that Kamiya has a policy of not doing a sequel if someone else worked on it.

In a perfect word, Capcom would make a sequel to Viewtiful Joe for XBLA and PSN and an Okami sequel for the Wii. It's always nice to have the original creators on board, but Capcom is the only company who has proven they can get away with making sequels without the original people at the helm.
Alas...alas...

The Capcom that I grew up with does not exist in this world anymore!
Still love them though. Adoring pretty much every game they shit out.

Well, the guy who made Rez at Sega left and formed his own company. Then he got in talks with Sega and they allowed him to remake it for the XBLA. Maybe a Viewtiful Joe sequel can work the same way.

If this man suddenly had this feeling to go "meh, maybe not" during a production of an Okami sequel - he might drop it, and everyone will go:

A mixed bag really. Okamiden is coming out so I'm getting more Okami. Okami by the original creator has been stopped because of Okamiden. In a perfect world we'd be getting both, but I'll see how Okamiden does first before passing wrath and fury.

The thing is Okami was set up perfectly the continuing adventures of Amaterasu, and there's nothing about Okamiden so far to suggest that it's continuing that story.
