Legendary action film director John Woo hasn't given up on a movie adaptation of Stranglehold, the game he made with Midway as a sequel to his Hong Kong bullet ballet classic Hard Boiled. In an interview with Cinematical, Woo was quick to note, "We are going to make that into a movie" when the topic of the game came up.
When the topic of making another, different game was broached, Woo -- whose latest film, Red Cliff, saw theatrical release Stateside November 22 -- said that he doesn't currently have any plans to, for obvious reasons. "I don't have that much time, even though I want to make one again," he said, "But for the moment, I also am producing two movies. One is shooting in Taiwan. One is shooting in Shanghai. So I am quite busy these days."

Very underrated and extremely fun (albeit shallow as hell) game.

Agree completely. Very fun game for what it was. Being a Woo fan helps, but it's still fun. zenaxe is wrong, IMO.

This game had probably one of the best demos ever, but holy shit the actual game was terrible. Could make for an interesting action movie I guess, but I wouldn't count on it.

The best part of the demo was going into the slow mo aim mode and shooting the enemies in the crotch and watch the utter pain on their face lol

Not terrible at all. One of the most fun games of the "max payne" genre. Enjoyed it immensely. Nothing like rolling through hallways on my stomach on a service cart while ringing up headshot after headshot in a museum.

I still say the game was rather enjoyable.
it was nothing but running around shooting badguys in action movie inspired ways.
It was very simple but really fun if you enjoy that kind of thing.
I got all the achievements in bit besides the one from the overpriced map pack that no one plays.
If you enjoyed wet and haven't played stranglehold I suggest you track that title down you can find it for 10 easily online now.
Anyways I would be very interested in playing a sequel as well as seeing the movie

I don't give a shit what general consensus was, I had a blast playing that game, even if it was a shallow game that was originally going to be a follow up to Psi-Ops. I love it. Everyone is allowed a "REALLY?! THAT GAME?!" kind of game. I got the PS3 special version, and having a game and movie on the same disc should be common place.

I remember this game being released around the same time as Halo 3. Halo completely killed it.

Huh? How does this comment make any sense? The two had nothing to do with each other. lol
Besides, we all know if you put the word "Halo" on a crumpled up piece of paper, it'll sell.

I Loved This Game, It Just Needs to Fix the Multiplayer a Bit and Add More Moves and Challenges within the Game.

Woah woah woah. The game was great...but the multiplayer? Really?
That was one of the most miserable experiences of my life.
Also, Hard Boiled is my favorite action movie ever. Hands down. Sequel would be the best idea ever. Glad it's still 'in the works'.
