Lance Henriksen reprises 'Bishop' role in Aliens vs. Predator

Lance Henriksen, who was most memorably cleaved asunder as android (ahem, "artificial lifeform") Bishop, will see another continuation of his Aliens film role in Rebellion's Alien vs. Predator game. Henriksen plays Karl Bishop Weyland, the descendant of Weyland-Yutani corporation founder Charles Bishop Weyland. The 69-year-old actor is happy with his virtual likeness (seen above) and is quoted as saying, "I might score from this game!" Joystiq is quoted as saying, "Maybe if it's from a facehugger, Lance."

Considering Henriksen's appearance in one of the most gore-riffic scenes in film (at the time), we should reiterate that Aliens vs. Predator will release in February 2010 on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC -- in countries that don't require toned-down violence. Rebellion has stated that it will not be "releasing a sanitized or cut down version for territories where adults are not considered by their governments to be able to make their own entertainment choices." Sorry, Australia and Germany.

Maybe AvsP can finally get some credibility.

Last I checked, only the Jaguar game came close to making this not seem like a half-assed crossover.

You missed two whole generations of games that were better than the jaguar version.

AVP1 and AVP2 for PC.

That game was beyond amazing.. Probably the most fun online game I've ever played, I just hope this games online captures the awesomeness that was AvP2..

omg survivor mode was the best. lol @ leadworks, so fun to camp there with marines not letting one single alien get in. But sometimes one would get too close and the acid blood would insta-kill an ally!! or jungle where everyone would either go underground or inside a house... or auriga at the bottom of the pit... good effin times.i played avp2 for 5 years online. hell i was one of the preds who only used combi/wristblades against everything. heavy pred OG ftw.

Okay...I will admit that the Jaguar version was great for its time but seriously did you snooze through the first half of the decade? I mentioned in a previous thread how good AvP for the pc did at capturing the pure essence of both series so I'm not going to repeat myself here but yeah they blow the jaguar version out of the water. One could hope that this next version holds up to its legacy.

I love that quote. If you're going to subject video games to that level of scrutiny, you should do the same for TV shows, movies and all other forms of media.

I am scared now. Rebellion made Rogue Warrior (which is the worst game ive ever played).

Don't be scared, pirate. Rebellion also made the previous fps iterations of AvP, which were awesome, back to and including the Jag version.

Not to mention that every hands-on I've read has been way positive.

I fucking love Lance Henrikssen. The way he just laid there sorta bored looking when he got ripped in half was priceless. I wish the dude was in every movie, and he almost is!

I enjoyed his work in Spaceballs.

Without trying to spoil your party, but why does he look like a cheap plastic action figure in the game (judging from the picture)? Haven't the graphics in games evolved beyond that stage?

This is Rebellion we're talking about. They arnt amazing developers. They did the best they could i guess.

Lance Henriksen + voice work = win. Every. Fuckin. Time.

I really doubt that. Here in the U.S., we have a very vocal group of haters, but they are a laughable minority, no matter how much noise they make, and every attempt to use the legal system to censor a rated product fails miserably, for a number of reasons obvious to anyone who understands the law. Not to mention the fact that entertainment is the only industry that America excels at anymore, and faux morality will never trump dollars, it'll just make a few fancy headlines.

Wtf is up with these bans of games in Western countries? They are democracies and yet don't allow video games that are violent? Seriously, WTF?

I'm not sure about Germany, but as for Australia, it's just the fact that the classification board hasn't caught up to modern times yet.
