ho no, you're in a big mistake if you think you can run out and hope to kill 5 guys with a shotgun. The game forces you to actually shoot from distances, not like CoD which promotes reckless 14 yr olds to go on banshee killing sprees.

And when did you see players driving tanks and buggies and transporting team mates in Blackhawks w/ chainguns in Modern Warfare Two? I think you need to have your eyes examined.

i been playing the beta for a while now and i can honestly say that you actually need to take your time and pick your shots, besides not being able to run and gun you also can't pray and spray, meaning you can't empty a clip on a guy, the gun actually has a good amount of recoil. Also, you *NEED* to be able to play as a *TEAM*, you won't defend/bomb A or B without at least a good squad to back you up. I been in a game where i've taken all 4 bases and ended the game in less then 20 minutes because of great team work. Not to mention not lasting long in a tank without a skilled Engineer or getting rid of respawing altogether under the hands of a skilled Medic to revive you.

the bad though? Snipers. Expect at least half of them to be snipers. They are huge maps which will spawn a bunch of players who will rather sit back and shoot from a distance, which i'm cool with, but only under the right hands. Some people just plain suck at it.

Oh my god you guys are losers, he says the games look similar and you start spouting about gameplay differences, because GAMEPLAY totally affects the VISUAL aspects of these games.

These two games are almost identical. How you play them is not.

I think part of their marketing strategy with BF: BC 2 is to give people features that IW didn't with MW2. The dedicated servers on PC and party chat on 360 seems like a direct response to IW. Not sure if it'll work but thats certainly what they're doing.

Party chat isn't banned on the 360 version it just isn't allowed in all the game types. It shows you on the list when you go to find a match type which game modes have Party Chat and which don't. It really does help out with cheating especially in Search and Destroy. Also if its just you and a friend you can go into a Private Chat line where only you 2 can talk and the game doesn't detect it.

Ok, I can get how somebody in your party could play for the other side and let everybody else know what's up; but they could circumvent this by providing some sort of notation on if people are in a party, and who they're with. This is already done on the Friends "channel", why couldn't it be done in-game? Just add a border or background color around/behind the gamertag, or maybe add a letter/number/symbol before or after gamertags that are in a party...

I don't know why so many people complain about party chat. If you're only talking to one person, then you can play any playlist in private chat with that person. If you're playing with more, then start a party and play Ground War.

How about if I don't want to play Groundwar? The lag sometimes can get unbearable, and with people constantly leaving and joining, every 5 minutes you can get the stupid "Host Migration" crap.

My friends and I have been playing games fine, but it is just the extra hassle that you have to go through, muting everyone on the other team, etc...

I don't want to play Domination, I want to play Team Deathmatch. I shouldn't have to play Domination mode as well just because I want to be able to talk to my party when not everyone makes it into the match.

I would say that its less of an impact compared to MW2.Since the scale of battle ins BC2 and already being able to spot enemies, its use for cheating is rather diminished with the exception of maybe saying "There's a camper right next to the gold"

I would just like the ability to communicate with other squads in battlefield. Frontlines did this too, but then they said they were going to institute some kind of proximity chat, or something like that.

So squad chat, but then give us proxy chat! I can understand the desire for people to want to have party chat for reasons that may not concern the game at hand, but I would like the ability to talk to my entire team. (or proxy chat)

The party system is broken. My party almost always gets broken up when playing ground war.

that was one of the things i was hoping they were going to fix from MW1. i guess not. i have no idea why it's so difficult to form/keep parties. a couple days ago, i had about four friends playing in a game. one of them invited me, but when i got in, they backed out because somehow they lost someone. but when i backed out, rather then putting me in their party, i got lost completely, and had to be reinvited (is it not possible to join a party from someone's gamertag like in Halo 3?). then i kept getting put on the opposite team as all my friends. regardless of which gameplay you prefer, i think most people would agree that Halo 3's online system is better.

Personally, it's not important to me, but I don't think IW had any business nerfing the feature, as I know a lot of people use it.

I wouldn't blame ANYONE for not wanting to hear general chat on Live.

w00t, no-one downvoted Bradwart yet...in fact he's blue!

Back on topic, I don't own MW2, but my brother does, and I have borrowed his copy from time to time. It is so annoying having to mute everyone who joins (which is almost a requirement with most of the people who play on live - the non-annoying people either do the same or don't use chat). The only time My friends and I have ever done anything resembling cheating using party chat is in Gears 2 when there is one person left on the enemy team and one left on ours, and the enemy is hiding somewhere rather than trying to end the match.

No party chat in team deathmatch was unacceptable of IW to do, but really it's not a HUGE deal because they let you have party chat in Groundwar, which is just team deathmatch or domination.

Which brings up another question. Why ban party chat in team deathmatch and domination seperately, but allow it in groundwar when it's just those same 2 modes? Makes no damn sense at all.

I also think it's pretty ironic that they took party chat out of most modes because of "cheating", but allowed several massive, game breaking glitches to get through to the public like the javelin glitch.

What really makes no sense is that you can still party chat in loner modes. It's not that hard to invite friends into FFA and Mercenary.

Ground War sucks. It's extra super laggy, and people are constantly getting kicked out of my party. Plus, the LAST thing MW2 needs is MORE people shooting me from out of nowhere.

(does anyone else think Scrapyard should be taken out of the GW rotation?)

I think it's really awesome that they did both this and decided to support dedicated servers. After playing the multiplayer beta though, I'm not really into it. It's solid but not my kind of game. If I was going to buy a modern shooter it would be MW2 over this, but I still haven't seen anything that's really worth $60 when I already have COD4.

Part chat is really only important to me if I'm playing the same game alongside someone else on my friend list. So unless I'm interacting with that person in-game, I really don't care about party chat. That being said, I'm still frustrated with the general lack of it in Modern Warfare 2. Since there are 3 or 4 people on my friend list that i like to have clear uninterrupted conversation with during gameplay.
