Is there going to be another wave of "Boycott until they remove the DRM!" about this?

Who am I kidding? Of course there will be.

I'm just starting to wonder if that whole 'this was designed for PC' thing went out the window, since the PC crowd is getting shafted on these release dates.

1) Create underwhelming (one Thunderdome-type room of endless spawns) content.
2) Add bank feature so people will actually buy it.
3) ?????
4) PROFIT!

Couldn't have put it better, myself, Jane. And, that's exactly what this is... I bet the three new arenas won't even be in a new area, but just fast travel locations. Zombie Island, while fun, was a disappointment overall... so I'm a bit leery of this next DLC.

I also hope this isn't a trend Gearbox plans to follow... that is, to release expansions that should be no more than $5 bucks, for $10, and include much requested features like weapon storage, level cap increases and more to encourage purchase. Weapon storage and things like that should be free in updates, which they've yet to follow through on, anyway.

I mean, at least even Fallout 3's most underwhelming content packs (Anchorage, The Pitt, Zeta) added a lot that could be taken back to the main game, including perks, weapons, characters, etc.

man, $10 again. idunno. Zombie island was a whole new area that was pretty big. this is just 3 arenas, and some storage boxes?

I might have to pass on this, as much as I want it I can't let them think I'm ok with spending $10 on every little thing they put out.

I'm inclined to agree. I bought Zed Island DLC because I believed that zombies were an appropriate add-on (not fitting in with the story/world). Weapon Bank/Boxes are something that should have been in the game from day 0. This is messed up.

As excited as I am about the bank and more levels, I hope they don't plan on keeping up this $10 for every DLC they release month after month. Even if it was just a few dollars off that, like $7 instead of $10, it'd be much easier to swallow.

Oh well, what can I do? I still want the DLC... badly.

Also, to the Joystiq Overlords, your new site style didn't carry over to the profile pages. For example:

So, this is the new trend for games? Weapon storage, and raising level caps cost extra?

I'm fine with them charging extra for new content, but these are features that could be implemented in a title update, and were most likely left out of the game in the beginning so they could charge for it after.

"Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot is an intense single-player or cooperative experience that expands the mayhem by adding three new Riot Mode arenas where players will endure an onslaught of Pandora's baddest enemies."

YES! Less running around, more killing! I really hope this is bigger and better than the little arena missions in the main game, I am hoping for something a little more similar to GOW2 horde mode.

Please o please let this DLC be longer than the zombie DLC, that was not enough to satisfy my need for more Borderlands and more loot!

Do I need a weapon bank? Unless I was keeping weapons for nostalgic reasons, I just sell all of my old guns. My backpack can carry plenty of stuff already and as much as I love loot, by the time my pack is full there are almost too many weapons to sift through.

Borderlands needs to add DLC that allows coop two-on-two combat racing with bots! Now THAT would rock. (unless that's in the game and I haven't played that mission)

I agree, the weapon bank is not the selling point here. Between the 42 slots and the additional used inventory, the only time I run out of space is when I am loot-whoring to sell. If anyone wants to save weapons long-term, just start a new character and hand them off.

A storage bank does have a point if there is a trading system, that way you have space to save those weapons and class mods for other characters.....but without a trading system, how can you safely trade items with someone you dont know?

Borderlands feels like Diablo 1 after playing Diablo 2. There are so many simple little things that can be added to make the game soooo much deeper and all encompassing.

Collect oranges is fun for some reason, you get all sorts of random stuff. I have about 70+ oranges and a storage unit will be nice so I can put them somewhere. It's half because I just want to see all the things you can get and aquire some OP'd weapons, but also whenever my friends eventually get to 48 I can hand some out.

Welcome to the new mainstream trend of gaming.

I'm starting to not even blame the publishers/developers anymore. After all, if it weren't for suckers who jizz at the mere mention of 'DLC' and immediately dole out their hard earned money for content which, most of the time, made sense to include with the original game then this wouldn't actually be a viable business model.

Honestly, I really wish people would stop and look at the content and just ask themselves: "Am I paying for something which should have been part of the original design of the game from the get go or am I paying for an actual ADDITION to the game which is worthwhile?"

I learned after getting screwed on Katamari. I just wait for GOTY editions or deal of the week discounts. DLC is rarely worth it anymore when you can get it so cheap just waiting a little bit.

The new Prince of Persia taught me that.

Borderlands had plenty of content though and actually scaled the gameplay for the second playthrough. Not to mention they're listening to feedback with the DLC instead of forcing crap down our throats

i like paying for DLC for my games, the most fun is the process of purchasing and installing the DLC!! i don't mind paying $$$ for content that perhaps may have been left out on purpose, if anything it gives me incentive to revisit completed games i no longer play like borderlands. if you complain than go get a job or pick up a different hobby f your wallet is flat, video games are not cheap.

Why does complaint automatically make you think people are poor? Just because your opinion differs does not mean you have to insult other people's opinion. People could do the same by saying it's people like you who let this kind of DLC hit the market, but you are entitled to what you want to spend your money on.

"This kind of DLC"

What kind of DLC is that? Ones that add a TINY feature like a storage chest? If you didnt notice, thats not the only thing this content adds, so judging it solely on the feature is well, DLCist.

I am simply basing my words off of some of the price complaints. Some feel the price to content ratio is uneven. I make no statements I am just giving a scenario. As I said people are entitled to spend their money on what they want. I personally won't be purchasing it but won't leave negative comments to those who feel it is worth it. I am mostly just questioning why BlueNocturneX had to be rude about his post.

@Samuel Vimes

I agree about the price to content ratio, thats why I will never be seen in purchasable avatar clothing. All this hate on DLC that hasnt even been released yet is getting annoying, many people are judging it simply because it includes a storage chest....meanwhile if you played the game and repaired the claptraps most people dont even want/need the chest.

I pretty much ignored BlueNocturneX post, considering he said "i like paying for DLC for my games, the most fun is the process of purchasing and installing the DLC!!" IDK what fun there is to be had when buying/downloading DLC....the fun is in the content. Anyone who accepts publishers purposely leaving content out just to charge for it later is simply not interested in getting the most out of their money.

Well, anytime a developer charges $10 for 3 maps for any console FPS game, I just go on my PC and start playing a lot of Team Fortress 2.

TF2 is my anti-DLC.

Well a lot of people say 10 dollars is too much. and Your right it is my opinion. We are in recession and you gotta do what you gotta do, and if that means to Deliberately leave out content just to go around and market DLC then so be it, if anything I see myself as contributing to building a deprived economy.
I didn't mean to sound insulting my apologizes if I offended you and others.

Keep up the good fight, though. If people weren't vocal about Bethesda and their Horse Armor DLC, we'd be getting a lot of similarly priced content without much content at all! That's why I hate when people tell others to shut up about certain DLC when they bring up issues with it.

Blue to the same token, the developers and more so publishers also realize that we are in a recession right now and know how cash strapped a lot of gamers are. To purposely hold little things out of a game to then charge for them can give the wrong impression to those that are spending the money on the product. Stuff like a storage box or RE5's versus mode seem completely wrong to charge for. I understand charging for content like Zombie Island, that seems reasonable and I have no issues with DLC in general. The thought of developers, be it of their own voilition or the hand of the publisher forcing them, holding any content out of a game to sell it later just doesn't feel right as a cash strapped gamer. Another good example of feeling wronged would be Dragon Age, I mean multiple DLC packs available on day 1 of release tells me it could have and should have been included.

again I have no issue with DLC itself, just don't hold stuff out if it can make the final cut. If you want to put out DLC, actually develop it after the main game is on a disc not before.

Hey, Gearbox, here's an idea: give us some new enemy types. I loved Borderlands, but it could really use a little more variation than dogs, insects, birds, and bandits, no? Oh, and this enemy variation should have been included in the game, not as DLC.

the way i see it is video games have come a long way while maintaining a close price point to what it was back then per game $50-$60, just compare the games of old and now. i feel this is taken for granted.
