Perihperal Vision: Nyko Charge Base IC Hands-on/Butter Cookie Tutorial

Peripheral Vision is the name of our ongoing sporadic journey into the wonderful, oft-terrifying world of third-party peripherals. Think of it as neither preview or review but rather a ... meditation on the curious object in question. Enjoy.

When the holidays roll around, the gamers who buy everything they want throughout the year might find themselves stymied asked for a wish list. Today, we put the Nyko Charge Base IC through its paces, and it looks like a great way to pad your list to Santa. The Wiimote charger uses induction, which not only alleviates the need to plug everything in, but -- as you'll see in the above video -- also looks really slick.

Also, to help justify this video's existence, we teach you how to make butter cookies.

The ratio of charging to cookies in this video is pure gold.

While I do love the cookies I might as well add in my own tidbits about the charger..

Nyko again decided to go ahead with the grey grip behind the battery cover, some people like this, some people don't. I'm one of the people who don't, so this is an instant no buy from me.

HOWEVER.

The idea of the Sync Key is fantastic, and future products should take note of this.

Dude, take your ring off when handling food like that! (From about 9:00 onwards)

That Nyko Charge Base IC is pretty cool. I hope the batteries got great lifespan cause otherwise that would suck if it'll die in no time or just months of usage. :D

Induction charger huh? I guess this works nice if you don't want to unplug nunchuks, motion plus or classic controllers every time you stop playing.

Do I need to make any high-altitude adjustments to the ingredients?

Brilliant video! I plan on trying the recipe soon. Also, curious, does your cat have a thing for cookies too? Mine turn evil when they see a cookie - unstoppable cookie killing machines when there is a cookie involved. ...A burglar or mouse, no so much interest.

is this the same as the other charger in the sense that the battery cover is too thick to use with the zapper, wii wheel, etc? btw, im making those 4 christmas :)
