I dunno, I have pretty fond memories of the old AvP games.

They were always damn fun to play especially the Lithtech ones and ESPECIALLY the beginning of the Alien campaign where you had to BITE YOUR WAY OUT OF A DUDE'S CHEST as a facehugger.

Also, I guess I'm not totally disenchanted by the franchise since I've never seen any of the movies except maybe clips here and there from the first Alien.

On one hand I'm really excited about a new AvsP game, on the other hand I'm a bit worried. Rebellion has made a lot of crap, no matter how you look at it.

Cannot wait to get this game. The old ones online was so incredibly fun. Fantastic memories. Hearing people cheer me on to try and survive the Aliens as the onslaught kept coming down. I died, but that day I was a hero.....Till the next round started.

I'm still not sure about whether I want this game or not, I mean it looks really good just like the old AVP games for PC but Rebellion hasn't made a good game in years.

This is true.

Definitely not a day 1 purchase. Going to wait to see what the general consensus is before deciding to throw this on my wishlist or not.

"The Survivor Edition comes in the requisite steel case and includes codes for extra multiplayer maps"

Seems like a bad idea. Multiplayer maps aren't any good unless LOTS of people have them. This game will have a hard enough time attracting online players.

And Australia gets the AvP Imagination Bundle!
Aus gamers get to imagine what it'd be like to play AvP.

"Wow! Look at that realism! ... that I'm imagining!"

Okay stiq of Joy, listen up.

I'm fully ready to man up and say this is my most wanted game on current gen consoles at the moment..surpassing Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell Conviction (Badass The Game), whatever game Mr. T was attached to, etc. Actually, I'll go you one further: I wanted this game more than I wanted Modern Warfare 2.

I know I should prepare myself for a world of hurt if this game sucks like a Facehugger, but I don't care. I'm an Alien and Predator fanboy. I've been needing this game for years.

I'll be reserving the Hunter collector's edition as soon as my retail chain of choice allows. If it's under $100, that is. I DO need to save $$$ for Mass Effect 2, Fallout New Vegas, Halo: Reach (which makes me think of toothbrushes)..

Stay frosty!

Fellow bug hunters or future Yauja, add Magic Whiskey if you want a pointman on your squad.

Whoa whoa whoa. Whoa.

The AvP movies are nowhere near the same level as the first Alien movie (or Aliens for that matter). Do not assume all of the movies that contain the titular Alien are crap because of the bad reputation of the AvP movies.

Do yourself a favor and check out Alien and Aliens. Also, for you StarCraft fans, fair number of quotes in the game are taken from Aliens.

Also, now that pets (and this Tokidoki pseudo-animal crap) is available for your Avatar, I demand a pet Facehugger. What say you, Joystiq?

Everyone knows Aliens > Alien.
Which is still kind of like saying gold wrapped in bacon is better than gold.

Both are excellent, but one is delicious.

You're all aware that, besides the titles and characters, the games have NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH THE MOVIES, right?

The AvP games are incredible. The movies are increible...y shitty.

And Aliens >>>>>>>>> all

I'm just so glad that the game hasn't been cancelled! Notice how everyone talks about how lethal the aliens' "acid blood" is and how great the predators are it's pretty obvious that when it comes to video games us human suck!
