One of the best fighting games of this generation is coming to PSP. After watching this new trailer for BlazBlue, we were surprised to see how well the game's HD visuals have been translated for Sony's handheld. It appears the handheld version of the game will add a few new features -- Legion and Shop modes -- but most importantly, we'd want the gameplay to work on PSP's admittedly restrictive control setup.
The preorder bonus CD is identified in this as "Jin and Rachel's Tsundere CD." "Tsundere" is a character stereotype, a person whose personality is alternatively confident/brusque and vulnerable/submissive; an example would be Tohsaka Rin from the Fate series. I take it these two characters (at least Rachel, as it's mostly a female stereotype) are like that? I don't know anything about BlazBlue (though this clip's "BUREI-BURU Shopping" text revealed to me that it's supposed to be pronounced "blaze" and not "blaz," as I had been doing). At any rate, it sounds more like it might be a silly audio drama (a good thing! The Fate/tiger colosseum audio drama CDs were hilarious, my favorite line being Saber's, "I would like to become a 'moe' character") than a soundtrack. Incidentally, at around the 54-second mark in the clip, the dialogue being spoken by the character at the door is, "Yo, Breast Person! I've come over to play." That dude is a smooth operator.
