Adding saboteur is a mistake.

There are massive issues with ATI cards at the moment and have been for over a week, EA keep saying that they are owrking on a fix with no ETA, they arent refunding people like myself on their digital download store and they have removed the game from shop shelves in some places.

Complete shambles, and the last EA game i will ever buy.

Oh and i forgot to add that they have locked the thread on their forums and they delete any posts concerning suing, refunds or an eta on the fix.

Nothing like a nice bit of censoring in the morning.

They're censoring the forums? That's fucked.

Way to damage the goodwill you'd built up from PC gamers, EA.

Avoid the Saboteur if you've got an ATI card, they're clearly not supported, even if EA wont admit it.

Sounds like they are taking "Nvidia, The Way It's Meant To Be Played" a little too literally?

"... even if EA wont admit it."

There is a warning on Impulse about compatibility with "ATI 3K, 4K and 5K" graphic cards. Check the link to Saboteur provided by Joystiq. Even if EA won't admit it, Impulse provides a gamer friendly warning.

I know joystiq doesn't like pc gaming but come on when a game is released that is basically unplayable on ATI cards I'd expect at least one news article about it.

Who still uses ATi? nVidia is the way it's meant to be played!

Okay, sarcasm over. Sounds like they've got kinks to work out.

Nvidia's latest cards from the 8000 series onwards have a tendency to overheat and die due to faults in the manufacturing process, a problem which Nvidia are yet to completely solve. Not to mention they've done some shady re-branding with the GTX series cards, and all the wanky DRM crap they're pushing through to remove features from their older cards.

So yeah, if that wasn't sarcasm you would have been in for a world of hurt. Nvidia is suffering from a case of market leader incompetence, so ATI is the way to go (for now, anyway.)

Wow, Impulse has been getting a lot of coverage since they asserted that they are second to Steam. In fact, the first time I learned that Impulse exists is when they said they were in second place. Well played Stardock, well played.

I'm pretty tired of buying a game from EA and having to wait weeks and weeks to play it to its full capacity or just having to simply make due with a pile of feces.

Although there are many holes in the threads revolving around the Saboteur/ATI/EA issue, it is possible to piece together the controversy within these forums.

Initial thread:
http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/346070.page

Active Complaint thread:
http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/349882.page

I understand that my words might have little weight, but I can assure you that a substantial amount of the posts deleted were constructive criticisms and encouragements to take verbal action against the policies of Electronic Arts and the downright alienation of its customers.

I am glad this is finally making way on to journalism sites such as Kotaku:

X-COM... X-COM? X-COM! For 3.47€!?? Sold!!!

P.S. To Saboteur v. ATI - there is a red bold message on Impulse about the problem:

"Important Notice: Windows 7, Vista and XP users with ATI 3K, 4K and 5K series graphics cards may temporarily experience compatibility issues. Thank you for you patience while this issue is resolved."
