Sol-Deace...also known as Sol-Feace...

Even though I don't approve of his treatment of Sega when he was at Working Designs, it's good to see Victor back.

Of, or by? WD was highly supportive of Sega for quite a long time, up until the Saturn's death.

Doubtful you'll read this, but it centers on the E3 temper tantrum he threw, as well as not supporting the Dreamcast, though at least he provided reasoning in that case.

Sunsoft released some of my favorite games when I was little: Batman, Fester's Quest, Gremlins 2 all on the NES, to name a few.

Ah, glorious nostalgia.

I read 'Valis' and thought something related to Philip K Dick, now I'm horribly, horribly disappointed.

I'd imagine that in a proper PKD Valis game you'd spend most of the time in and out of rehab, waiting for the pink lasers.

Ah, I remember digging up these gems with the wacky big-hair 80's anime covers from the depths of the rental shelf. Valis, Earnest Evans, El Viento... probably as much nostalgia as actual quality gameplay, but I'd still be interested in seeing them reboot the series or put out a downloadable HD remake.

Don't forget Blaster Master and Journey to Silius!

Plus, until pretty recent history theirs was probably the best Batman game ever.

I hate to be a pessimist, but I just can't imagine them being as wikkid col as they were in the 8-bit days.

Man, I loved Journey to Silius, but it was hard as nails. I don't think I ever made it past the third level.

Sunsoft on the NES was what to Telenet/Renovation was on the Mega Drive/Genesis.

Let's hope they don't go all Sonic Team and forget how to make good games.

and don't forget the pc-engine/turbo duo.... we had valis 1-4 as well as some others that the megadrive/genesis never got......

I'm happy to see that sunsoft (anyone actually) can release these classic telenet/renovation titles!

You can't imagine how awesome my day has turned after reading this. Valis is one of my favorite series, and I kinda hoped someone would one day release a decent addition to the seris. Now I know I didn't wait in vain. :3

Oh man, the entire Telenet/Renovation/Wolfteam catalog pretty much shaped my formative years. Granted, I still have every single one of my games from that era, but I would happily throw down to have them on a system that I don't have to plug AV cables into the side of my TV to play with wired controllers.

I don't know much about Sunsoft or Telenet, but I do know the former developed Waku Waku 7, a game I've always wanted to play ever since I saw it in a magazine in 95/96.

Sunsoft, I will buy everything you release from this point on if you officially disassociate VALIS X with the ENTIRE Telenet universe.

Well Wolfteam, (who worked on Sol-Feace, Earnest Evans, El Viento, Arcus Odyssey, Final Zone, pretty much a lot of genesis games published by Renovation) you might recognize as Namco Tales Studio nowadays.

I have no idea if any of the same guys still work for them.

I recall the day when I bought Batman for NES for like $20 @ Walmart. My dad had given me some money for mowing the lawn (2 or so acres) & I wanted a new Nintendo game. One of the best NES purchases I ever made. It was quite challenging (as was most NES games back then). The weapons. the wall jumping, etc.

I think I ended up having to use the Game Genie to beat it.

Fuck yes! Hope some new Valis games are made. My cousin had the third game on genesis, and while the gameplay wasn't all that great, you can't argue with slicing monsters as Yuko, Cham, or Valna.
