What i meant by that, sorry for being unclear, was that i will not be actively *looking* for a new racing game for the next few years. for instance, when GT4 disappointed me, and i went back to playing GT3, i still *desired* a new racing game. therefor i was actively looking for one.

When forza was released i didnt care/pay attention, because i wasnt going to waste my money on an Xbox. when i finally got the 360, my desire was quenched by Forza, and its been filled by it ever since. so i have not had to look into any other racing sim.

that doesnt stop me from playing other series if they are dropped at my feet (hence owning prologue/HD) i really hope thats cleared up for you to understand.

there are certain games that you dont really have to look for, to understand how well received it is. GT5 will be one of these games, you'll see it everywhere after it is released. so i'll know how good it is without really having to dig into forum posts or anything like that. and if everything looks good, i'll pick up a copy. why did i say used? because im satisfied with Forza 3, had GT5 come out first, and was well received as well. i'd have picked it up new, and purchased Forza 3 used. not a difficult concept.

you make it sound as if the guys at poly dont have anything premade for GT5. sure they have rebuilt it from the ground up. which was done with Forza 2 i might add. but they still had all of the video.pictures from the real world tracks. they still have the experience from building the first 4 games. they relationships with the car manufacturers to get the resources that they need. and they have been working on it for 5.5 years. they didnt completely start from scratch. so also do not have an excuse. it was 3.5 years, i'd understand taking a little extra time. but they have already finished the game, delayed it, finished it again, and delayed it. they should have finished the polishing a year or more ago.

Again, you say that as if you know exactly what's going on within the Polyphony development centre. All you or I can hope for is a good game, what does it matter how long it takes once the game is good and releases at a time that is suitable to everyone to be able to buy it. You say they 'should have' finished the game polishing. By whos standards are you basing these facts upon? EA's? Turn 10's? Codemasters? EA has popped out more games then both combined, and most of them have been crappy, I would rather have a delayed game that is up to scratch then a game every year that is not much better then the predessesor.

Thats not to say GT5 will be great, I don't know if it will, I can only hope that the time they have spent putting it together was worth it. Killzone 2 was superb, it was clear to see that they learnt from thier mistakes and rectified all of them, it was nowhere near groundbreaking or innovative, but it was fun and it was well delivered, at the end of the day, that is all I care about. I don't care about how many Forza games I can play in between, or how many NFS' I can play in between. All I can base my facts upon is what I saw in the development interviews they have released thus far, and in GTHD and Prologue, which you disliked and I happened to like.

I also don't care for or understand you reasoning for buying a used version, so didn't understand its purpose for being there, either you're buying it or not, does it matter if its used, rented, bought new, borrowed?

I'm kind of surprised people still care after so long.

Fans never stop caring. We're still excited for Starcraft 2 after all, and it's been ten long years with no end in sight. There are still far too many people that still get excited when they announce a new sonic game.

I stopped caring for Duke Nukem Forever since 2002, when it started getting pushed back and delayed all the time.

@CheeziePotato
Yeah that game has been delayed a lot. 3D Realms either needs to release the game already or just STFU about it and just cancel the thing already. I used to love playing Duke Nukem 3D back in the 90s, but I'm just tired of waiting for this game.

ugh this game is in development for so long I don't even care to play it anymore. Prologue was boring. Need for speed games and a few other new ones coming out are so much more fun. The only thing this has going for it are the graphics. I know it's a simulator, and one of the most realistic ones ever made, but those types of games just aren't fun.

so people complain because companies make games every year, and they complain when they don't do them every year?

Honestly, if this is going to be Sony's decision on release dates, they need to delay MAG or move it around, because honestly nobody cares about MAG. We need GT5 already.

Right now, Sony has enough FPS games on their console, many in house, all have online. Right now is not the time for MAG, its has barely been marketted as well. They could appropriately use the time to do something else about MAG. GT5 has been in the works for a longer time, has more hype, its a true system seller. Its brutally important that Sony doesn't delay this game longer than it should take. Many of us are willing to wait till Kazunori says its ready to go, I am too. If its ready then we should have it. Sony shouldn't have to make us wait LONGER than it needs to take for a game that will not impact its own sales.

Sony doesn't know how to market. Look how long it took them to come out w/ the current PS3 slim commercials, thats marketing. MAG? mostly unheard of, stupid name too. Want to play a shooter go play MW2 in the meantime, we need a racing game already that's better than mediocre or good.

This game is never coming out it seems. Don't be surprised when they announce Holiday 2010 at E3.

There is no way GT5 gets a different release on Japan and on the US.
PS3 games are region free, and they've proved to offer different languages in any region.
So what would stop gamers from buying the import GT5 version if there's a 3 or 4 months difference in release dates.
