Fair enough, he did say more than the Visceral thing, but a detailed opinion? I wouldn't call it a detailed opinion. It's was several minutes of visceral sarcasm (no pun intended).

For example, he makes the comment that he felt that his intelligence had been insulted yet doesn't give us any real reason why outside of his opinion that the approach of the game concerning nudity and violence is juvenile at best. So was his intelligence insulted playing games like House of Dead Overkill?

I love me some joystiq, make no mistake about it and I respect their opinions, (my wife and both loved AC2 for example, my goty)even though I don't always agree with them on everything. But, on the issue of Dante's I just couldn't disagree more. It's almost like we're playing two totally different games. There are a lot of hateful and frankly silly comments being made by Chris and Justin concerning this game and that's something I'm not used to coming from them. I get sarcasm but seriously, it just seems as though it's gone way overboard. My wife was in the game room with me while I was listening to the podcast and she was even taken aback. She asked me what game they were talking about because even she couldn't believe they were talking about the same game. We both in our 30's and have been married over a decade. We have our family, careers, we are veterans, we are educated and are functioning, contributing members too society. Being made out to be juvenile and lacking intelligence is insulting, not the other way around.

Another example would be the comment about the penis creature thingy that Chris was complaining about. That's all well and good that he doesn't like the art design but at least put it into context, perhaps some background information. Barlow is a well respected artist and known for his depictions of hell. I would also suggest watching the developers diaries, particularly the last two or three, and hear it from Visceral themselves. It comes across very differently once you hear from them rather than the idea of them being some perverted adolescents. The Divine Comedy is a classic to be sure, and I personally don't see the points being made. However, as I said, great podcast and to each his own.
