Funny, thought it said Ryan Reynolds, and then I imagined Deapool making a freaking awesome game.

Completely agree with the "Half-Life 2" Statement.
I guess we can only dream about what could be accomplished if Valve, Naughty Dog and Criterion joined forces to make a game...

"The traditional retail market (console games) will continue to be challenged and may not grow as much; meanwhile the giant MMO games at the high end and the small casual and social games at the small end will continue to see the most growth (and therefore investment)."

If the world become only MMO games of Facebook games, then I will hang up my controller and call it quits and find something else to entertain myself.

Having tried both, I have zero interest to invest any time or money on MMOs or Facebook games.

It will be interesting if MMO which seem to be huge in Asia become the main gaming for that region of the world but North America, Europe and Japan stick to console games. I don't get and don't care for any of the Facebook games and I can't stand all my friends who are looking for "someone to watch my farm" or some other thing on Facebook. Really, sometimes you have to step away from the keyboard.

I don't believe the MMO trend can be stopped, I just believe it sucks but looks like I am in the minority.

I hear you on that. I'd prefer that the traditional market not go away but, looks like I have about as much say as a blade of grass. All I can really do is just keep buying the games I like.

I don't always want to game online, just like I don't always want to be forced to hear someone read a book with 10 other people in the room all at the same time.

Sometimes I just want to come home, relax, put in a game and not be bothered by anything else outside of that game.

Facebook games I figure aren't really marketed towards people who visit this site on a regular basis but, I know what you mean:) It is something I have no real interest in, as well.

Social gaming? Puh-leeze. Money speaks loudly to this one.

The questions refers to it as "Video Games Industry" for a reason, and not the "Video Game Medium."

Hey Brian, when are you going to make a spiritual successor to SMAC?!? Hey, I think Facebook people wanna play a scifi space colonization game where the Planet is a legitimate player. And turn those SMACX factions into events or specials of the base game.

Additionally, Reynolds is one of the few people that has a shot at making facebook games a little more than the crap that's on there now.
He has made a lot of very complicated games though, so hopefully, he has a good grasp on simple controls.
