Here is why this is awesome: Bill, Zoey, Francis, and Louis will have full voice recordings for all the new zombies and weapons.

Moving the old maps over will be SO much easier that way.

Great, now we can hear all the old cast explain "THOSE ZOMBIES HAVE ARMOR" over and over and over again.

Sounds good. It should be free on Steam I think, I'd be surprised if it wasn't.

I'm still waiting on that Shaun of the Dead mod. We have cricket bats AND a Jukebox.

Wait, what's going on with Bill's legs? Is he leaning on Francis? I don't understand what's going on there.

Didn't Valve specifically say they didn't want the two groups to meet, because it wouldn't really make sense?

I guess I'm glad, since half the new survivors are terrible, but let's hope the actual campaign is more L4D1 and less L4D2.

More L4D1 would just mean more closed off areas and corners where spitters could kill all your team in one blow. I'll pass.

More L4D2 would mean more endless hallways that all look the same and go on for fucking ever, and immensely annoying crescendo events.

I'd rather take 1.

Did anyone play the Xbox game Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddlers' Green? The game itself was pretty awful, but the multiplayer had a CTF game that had two teams of human survivors fighting each other in a map that spawned AI zombies that would attack anybody. A pretty innovative idea that was ahead of it's time, but failed on the execution.

I always hoped L4D would do something similar; like a Counter-Strike type game with the zombie horde messing with both sides.

L4D maps don't really work for that style of play though, so I kinda doubt it will ever happen with this game.

Well, as fun as it'll be to get back in Bill's boots, my favorite character from the series is definitely Ellis.

*Picks up axe* "Heeey, I always wanted to be an axe murderer!"
*Picks up M-16* "Man, I have wanted this rifle since I was 9"
*Picks up bile jar* "Aww, a jar is no place for a bodily function"

"I ever tell you about the time me and my buddy Keith took a paintball gun on a roller coaster? We ain't never heard of anybody else doing it, so we figured we had invented a sport. We called a patent office, but..."
"Ellis, sweetie, can this wait?"
"Ooookay"

and as far as "Why can't these maps just be in L4D1?", I do feel like the new characters and story in the new game are entirely justified. The L4D1 survivors wouldn't make any sense in the L4D2 scenario.

That being said, I'm all for them appearing in the L4D2 content, but I feel like it's more of a cameo appearance than a canon appearance. A Snake/Sonic in Brawl sort of deal. All good and fun, but nothing more than that.

Except that I hate Sonic with a burning passion. Bad analogy.

I'm highly annoying when playing L4D.

This is Valve, so I'm really suspicious how these two teams are going to meet.
My guess? The L4D2 quartet is going to meet the L4D1 ...Infected.

Mark my words.

They're immune. They can't be zombies.

Here's how I see this going: Both groups of survivors were rescued by the army at the end. They get brought to a single place where they study immunes and look for a cure. All hell breaks loose in that base and both groups of survivors need to escape.

I like this concept. I think an 8-player mode would be epic. there are actually a bunch of mods on the PC version of L4D that allow 8 survivors and 8 infected players--I'd love to see something like that.

But for those who argue it is the same game with a new face, i need to disagree. L4D2 has a lot of improvements and changes from L4D. I'm actually glad it was its own game, save for the fact that I'll never get some of the original L4D achievements. I personally think that L4D is only a PROTOTYPE compared to L4D2. The original game, despite being enjoyable, felt somewhat unfinished when I played it. Left 4 Dead 2 seems to have what was missing--it just feels like a full game, where Left 4 Dead seemed to have a chunk of possible gameplay missing.

I love L4D2 more than L4D. Sue me.

My problem with L4D2 is that the campaigns don't feel dark and grungy enough. The areas in the game arent creepy, they're just normal places with zombies in them. In the first game it was all office buildings, apartments, and creepy forests and I enjoyed that. All the levels were night time and the game had a feeling of emptiness, like you were all alone. I miss that. L4D2 just needs to add in some more night levels, especially ones taking place in dark forests or cities. Creative areas are nice, but we need to get back to basics for at least ONE campaign.
