Yeah, thanks for the heads-up, Bioware. It's not like I just bought the game and some DLC.

I could understand if it took months or a year to port? But just over five weeks? That's straight-up bullshit. They're going to miss out on a ton of Mac version sales because we bought the game to use via Boot Camp.

How dare they release a port as soon as possible?!

No, how dare they not say anything about it, since it has obviously been in the works for some time! It's not as if they shot it out in a weekend.

I, and many other Mac users, would have waited a few weeks for a native version. I'm not buying it a second time unless they plan on giving me a refund for the Win version and let me transfer my DLC. Which I know ain't happening.

Well, for one thing, Bioware has nothing to do with it. EA and Transgaming are the ones porting it over.

But yeah, I highly doubt they'll give you a refund.
:C
Stay strong my gamer brethren!

It just makes no sense. If they just dropped a PS3 version unannounced a month after the 360 version, people would react no better! Who drops a major release with no announcement? It boggles the mind.

"They're going to miss out on a ton of Mac version sales"

Why would that effect them? If the mac users bought windows versions for boot camp, EA still got their money, so they haven't lost anything.

It is pretty lame of them to not say anything about it until now. They should have given you guys some more warning.

EA didn't lose any money, but in the long run it looks like Mac owners don't buy games. We do. You just have to properly sell them to us, just like any other customer.

Granger: There is no reply button, failure.

Zack11190: You do realize that a Mac *is* a PC, right? Idiot. Not even in the general sense of "personal computer" but in the more specific of being x86-derived.

The difference between an elitist such as myself and a Mac elitist is that a Mac elitist is only elite at being a fool with more money than sense.

"Granger: There is no reply button, failure."

This is not the matrix. There is a reply button; you just couldn't find it, thus proving his point.

Keep spouting off - you amuse us with how bad you end up looking. :-)

Is it just me or did the "voted" graphic change to Engadget's new one? Does this hint towards Joystiq 3.0? Or is it just some random change caused by the code changes in Engadget?

I think its great developers are supporting the Mac os. And its not so bad being a mac gamer because with things like bootcamp and Crossover games you can get almost all the Windows games on a mac. i play css hl2, tf2 all on my mac no problem. but what I find amazing is how everyone who owns a PC thinks that Everyone uses a Computer for gaming. the majority of mac owners know there is not a lot of games for a mac but get one because it suit their needs like Editing Movies and Making music and so on and so forth. Not everyone who owns a Computer plays games on it. Thats why you get a fucking console

What I don't understand is how everyone talks like a Mac is the only OS capable of video editing, music editing, etc. Windows supports those programs as well. If you want to compare video editing software, I'd happily chat you up on them; the OS itself has no effect on the program aside from support.

Power to the people who like Macs. I personally love the style/look of them. Functionality and price leave something to be desired on *my* part.

Oh yeah, and to hell with their pretentious commercials. Every time they say "PC" I cringe, they're comparing operating systems; makes it sound like they don't even know what they're talking about.

Whoever was in charge should have announced it earlier, I bootcamped my mac and bought windows a month ago. Would've been nice to save a hundred bucks...at least I can play sw:the old republic right when it comes out.

My 2007 MacBook Pro (2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, 512MB GeForce 8600M GT) runs WOW and Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars with almost the same visual fidelity as my Windows 7 PC (2.66GHz Core 2 Quad, 8GB RAM, 2 x 1GB Radeon HD 4650). Just at a slightly lower resolution.

Of course, older games, not optimised for newer hardware, yadda yadda. Modern Macs are more than capable of playing anything you throw at them, it's just that publishers are not that willing to put the resources into launches.
