Skilled in both biotic skills (thats space magic, folks) and tech abilities, Norman says the Sentinel is "the only class that can blast through any enemy's defenses ... with or without your squad backing you up." With only a handful of weeks left before the game's January 26 release date, it won't be long before we get to find out exactly how adept the Sentinel is for ourselves.

I can't wrap my head around the fact that it's just a little over a month. Going from December to January is always like a timewarp to me.
At any rate, I'm ready. Just finished a 100% playthrough in ME, including the stupid collection quests but excluding Pinnacle Station. I even spent an hour trying to buy Pinnacle Station knowing it's terrible, but the EA store simply wouldn't let me. I did buy Galaxy for my iPod though.
I've logged well over 100 hours in that game, 80 of which were on a single character across multiple playthroughs. I've never been more inspired by a game universe.

I am doing the same thing right now. I just reached Level 60 last night. Game never gets old. This will be my 4th time beating it, I think.

Vanguards and Sentinels are absolutely adorable at lower levels, but for late-game you can't compete with the Adept.
By the end of Mass Effect, I was just calmly walking into the middle of firefights, waving my arms, and sending dozens of bodies flying in every direction.
And laughing maniacally.

My first playthrough was an adept, my insane was with a adept, I love the adept, but once you get all of the achievements, and use them to pass on a skill, certain classes become amazing. This is where the adept falls short of the vanguards usefulness.

Minor complaint. I felt like it was impossible to get all of the achievements in the game unless you used Soldier, Adept, Engineer. The mixed classes I used (sentinal) were unable to do specific abilities. so even after 3 playthroughs I am missing achievos, which is kinda ridiculous considering the amount of time that was spent playing the game.

I think I need to give BioWare a visit. I'm sure, with my powers, I can get a review copy.

It takes more than making 200 comments a day on a video game blog to impress bioware.

I'm still sticking with Vanguard because of my previous save and because of that awesome body slam move they have now. I'll probably play an adept on the 2nd playthrough since it seems like biotics regenerate their skills almost instantly now so I won't be stuck running around with just a pistol for 2 minute stretches.
Love the new updated combat though. This is what combat in an RPG should be like, not waiting for your opponent to attack.

I wanna see some info on the Infiltrator, since that's what I used on my first run (and my only complete run... using the buggy, crashy PC version makes going through two runs hard).

You were running around with a pistol for two minutes waiting on the cooldown because you were low leveled. That's the only explanation. All biotics at Mastery with the Adept talent line filled care around ten-to-fifteen seconds in cooldown.
Also, the only reason this guy is spamming powers in the video is because it's running on debug mode, or he's maxed. If you can spam biotics like that in the retail version, it'll be too broken.

After what a disappointment ME1 was is anyone actually excited for this?

Prepare for downvote rape, NOW!
I'm only 9 hours into ME1 on the PC, but am really enjoying it so far so I'll have to disagree with you, when the vast majority also likes the game. But I will disagree with those that gush praise over Arkham Asylum (overrated IMO), people should have their own opinions.

ME1 was great, as are pretty much all BioWare games. If you had said "after what a disappointment Dragon Age was", I'd agree.

I asked my fiance for this and the Bioshock 2 Limited Edition for xmas.... so in other words, I'll be opening a card that has a pair of receipts from Gamestop since they won't be out in time. But they'll be the best receipts I could ever hope for.

Warp is one of the most satisfying biotic abilities ever.
"Oh, you want to use immunity for the billionth time? TAKE THIS! WARRRRRRRRP!"
PEW PEW PEW. dead.
Seriously, Vanguard + Lift + Warp + that recharge ability = instant victory. Hopefully Sentinels won't be the only mixed class with Warp or I will cry.

Especially with those pesky Krogan. I hated playing Insanity because I would one more shot from killing them, while they are on the ground, and immunity would activate.

Why wouldn't Sentinel and Vanguard be the only mixed classes with Warp? Warp is a Biotic ability. There are only three classes with biotics, one pure, two mixed.

They have the worst armor in the game, and that "Sentinel armor" thing they're hyping seems to be at most an over-glorified Barrier/Shield Boost.
Furthermore, their weaponry is laughable, as you'll be sitting there useless until your abilities cooldown (or you have a bonus talent like SRs or ARs).

The only thing I find slightly boner-wilting is all the boring level design in these promos. I mean, I'm SURE these are this way because they don't want to show the awesome stuff before the game ships, but by God, what's with all the boxes?
Everything else is looking amazing though. The combat looks so fluid, and the pop-in is all but eliminated. Excellent.
