Modern Warfare II in UK is played like its the only game in town. Honestly, M2 II sales
go insanely-high, it even beat the record of Grand Theft Auto IV. Hail to MW2.. LOL, see what other games in xbox360 that drives UK people "crazy". On the other view, its good to see AC II doing some sales too. detailed view: http://bit.ly/modern-warfare-in-uk-hell-yeah

its funny that in some places when you talk about MW II, people raise an eyebrow with you and look at you with a blank face. (Hint: that country is where FF originated)

Since everyone moved their release schedules around to accommodate it, MW2 is the only game in town in a lot of towns....

What the fuck is with all the ellipsis abuse in the replies? LOL. Try using an em dash instead perhaps guys? It would look better at the very least.

Anyhow, I don't really see how anyone can consider Modern Warfare 2 to be crap. At the very worst it is a competently made FPS, maybe it isn't your thing but that doesn't make it by any measure crap.

I know—isn't it annoying? At least you blamed yourself—an not the comment system—like everyone else here—I know sometimes I get mixed up when there are a lot of comments—but back on topic—MW2 is a solid game—I still wish Uncharted 2 was getting similar sales—those guys really deserve it—it also kills me that so many people are ignoring a game that really pushes story—andcharacter—as well as gameplay.

I thought the core game of Assassins Creed 2 was awesome. But, the whole animus story line is just retarded and unnecessary. The ending in AC2 may not be worse than that of the first AC but its still not good enough when I just poured 40 hours into the game. Why take a dump on the fans with that type of ending and secret sequence video?

I understand the story line of the Assassins Creed universe when it comes to the animus and I even understand all the symbolism at the end of the first game. But, I don't see why they had to ruin a perfectly good period piece with all that techno babble.

I'm curious. The people who post this stuff, are they just annoyed that Joystiq runs a lot of stories on MW2, or do they honestly believe that MW2 is a poorly made game?

I can find a couple of things to criticize about the game: The plot in single-player is dumb, the party migration problems can be a real pain in multiplayer, but overall it seems obvious to me this is an extremely well-made game.

I can understand being turned off by some of the jingoism, or that this just may not be the type of game you enjoy, but is that why people are just saying it is terrible?

Apparently it's still considered "Cool" and "Rebellious" to hate popular things...if only in peoples' own minds. I'd like to see these people bashing MW2 to make a game that rivals it in quality...THEN they can call it garbage all they want.

It's much like Halo 3, Gears of War, or any other big name game that releases. There are usually two reasons:

a) You don't like that genre, so instantly all games in that genre are generic pieces of crap.

b) You don't own that system, so instantly all games on that system are generic pieces of crap.

Or in some rare cases you get a third reason:

c) You own the console and like the genre, but felt the game pales in comparison to some other game that came before it.

I played the game, its aight, not my cup of tea.....but I'm not going to rag on it like some people do....I mean its not THAT bad, I just don't think the story is all that good nor do I like the fact that you get points out the ass in multiplayer.....I mean you run 50 meters and get points, you get 10 kills with a certain gun and get points....you get killed so many times in a row and you get perks.....I just don't like all that extra stuff....

i'm not hating on it just to hate... with previous COD's i took my gaming rather seriously.... i tried to keep a good kdr... not so much with mw2 because of the way they changed the gameplay... no lie ive had several times in MW2 where i have spawned DIRECTLY in front of a enemy and they just stab me.... I would always play cod for a serious experience.. party up with friends and put a good amount of time into it... MW2 has just lost that for me... i dont know... please dont assume I'm hating just because its popular... people need to learn how to not be sheep and form their own opinions... I tried giving MW2 an honest go but.. eh...

But even if you believed in either A, B or C, to say it is 'crap' or a bad game, you'd need to have reasons other then personal hatred for something for no reason.

I can say I'm not a dedicated fan of Halo as a plot, meaning, you won't find me reading the books because personally I didn't think it was worth it if the storyline wasn't enough to grab me. But, my gripe isn't with its gameplay, I enjoy having a bout, I also enjoy having a playthough and while I may not be keen to RUN to the next game like many fans would, it would be foolish of me to believe it was crap. Halo is a very well developed series, as is MW, its just a shame people base thier own judgement of a game on the developers of the game or even the series as a whole.

Nobody expects you to like every game, thats the joy of variety and genres, but at least respect the time and effort that has been taken to create it.

C for me as well. The game is well done, but I feel that had this been badged with any other name on it, it would not have sold as well. The single player story was disjointed and lacked the finesse that COD4 had (and even that had a weak plot compared to other games in the genre). I didn't care about Soap or Roach or any of the characters. Hell, Ghost was in every damn level and could have been the next Cole Train, but he was about as lifeless as the generic bad guys that threw at you.

I haven't played the MP, so can't comment on that. But the single player was a let down.

On the plus side, the set pieces themselves were beautiful. Cliffhanger was a beautifully done level, and the final boat chase was pretty awesome.

I feel that this game sums up the 2000's pretty well. Terrorists, very little substance, lots of flashy and shiny things to distract you and hardly any reasoning for what happened.

I like that it gives points for getting kills with certain guns. it keeps people from running around with one sniper rifle and grenades all the time. I don't however like the fact that the points take up 80% of the screen and loud music drowns everything out.

C for me as well.

I was so hyped for the damn game going as far to buy the hardened edition at midnight and making my own custom trailer for the game on my youtube channel. I adored the first modern warfare because first and foremost the story was compelling and thought provoking. There were some very powerful moments in the first game that were replaced by over the top theatrics, gaping plot holes, convoluted story and an awful ending.

I try to make it a point not to say the game itself sucks. It's a quality product and most people buy it and play it for the multiplayer. However, I bought it for the story and thought that it fell well short of the first MW & W@W in that regard. I actually gave the multiplayer a fair shot playing about 7-8 hours before trading the game into Gamestop. It's hard for me to make headway in the multiplayer when the matchmaking system always pits me against players 4-5x my skill level.

The bottom line for me is that the game didn't impress me on any level more than the first MW. The graphics looked the same and I felt the story was worse. It felt more like a step back from those perspectives. I have to give credit where it's due and the co-op portions of the game (spec ops) was the best addition. Still, the lack of matchmaking for that game mode curtailed my enjoyment.

I thought W@W was worse than CoD4. And if you want to talk about cheesy, W@W has rifle mounted grenades and suppressors on WWII weapons. People bled more blood when they were shot than their heart could make in a day. Limbs were blown off from being hit with frag from 10 feet away. I mean yea thats inside the kill zone but shrapnel at that range doesnt usually take off both legs and an arm. So while the effects were cool for the first 3 days, W@W was cheesy and saying MW2 is cheesy compared the W@W is you just being a fanboy or being butthurt about something.

Yes MW2 is unrealistic just like CoD4 but I am not looking for a military sim. I already have SOCOM and GRAW. We all knew what we were buying.

Stays at the top, wins 2 awards, yet online is pretty well unplayable. With the amount of money this game has brought in I am still baffled by the broken matchmaking right now and allowing these ranked private match glitches to get by. Can't wait to play the other half of the game we all put our money into.

Pretty much except with MW2 you tend to just end up in a glitched 18 man rust domination. My win/loss and kill/death ratio is botched from it. I love the game but they need to get off their horse and start fixing their problems.

That's how it was in MW1 also finnith. I get the same thing happening to me. But I don't mind it too much, rank just means they've devoted more time to it than I have. I kill plenty of way higher ranked people than myself, just as people ranked lower than I kill me. I'd be happy to be able to play nothing but prestige rank. At least I'd get to play period.

It doesn't seem fair though. They have access to an entire armory's worth of weapons, while I'm limited to an M4 with a red-dot sight. I felt that Halo 3 had a much better matchmaking system, in that it "made matches" with people of my skill level.

Usually its for thier kids, I doubt adults care much about reviews when it comes to picking a random game for Xmas they think thier kid will enjoy.

Otherwise I wouldn't have had to resort to buying games myself and specifically telling my parents which ones I wanted, lol

I really liked the single player, even though I prefer PC I played it on the 360 (You know when you have to get the game on the console your friends have it on).

In multi-player I get my ass handed to me on a silver platter. I can't see how anyone could accurately aim with a controller. It doesn't help that I was in a match with an average of level 70's and I was level 1 (got to 12 at this point).

It's a matter of experience. I can aim pretty damn accurately with a controller, but I can do that with a mouse too. Still prefer the controller.

Do you take advantage of the sticky aiming? I find myself fighting the controls and that sticky aiming that attaches your sights to an enemy (When I do it, it end up slightly moving the stick on accident and shooting a corona around the enemy while he prances toward me laughing).

Yeah, you have to learn not to go against that. It's not as prevalent in all titles, so you've got to adjust constantly when it comes to a console.
