You can see the reasoning behind Nintendo's madness. They're still making the same revenue off of games that other publishers would consider so ancient as to not be willing to support at all anymore (NSMB, for instance, is older than Guitar Hero II, Final Fantasy XII, and Resistance: Fall of Man)

copa i said this because i loved cod4, this game didnt come no where near for me, its boring and not fun, nothing like i expected it 2 be,

"I can find a couple of things to criticize about the game: The plot in single-player is dumb, the party migration problems can be a real pain in multiplayer, but overall it seems obvious to me this is an extremely well-made game"

you 4got the lag, quit a game search for another and it puts u str8 back init, all those dam glitchers, campers and hackers that have no life so they piss other people off. after the 3rd patch all my local searches went tits up again, just connecting to americans, and waiting for 100>ping to get in 2 a game, i have no problem with no other game and im on a 50mbps fibre optic so its not my internet.
sounds like they cant be botherd with making a good game and just want money

LOL @ the people not knowing whether to praise it or not. It's a great game, set the standard for fps military shooters a long time ago.

On another note... looking forward to the new Spec Ops game next year.

I just don't get it. This game is by no means a genre defining game. In my opinion it is a step in the wrong direction. Before you start slamming me for the statement, i would like to say that the game is very fun, and has some amazing set pieces.

But,

I cannot get over the shooting mechanic and the games heavy reliance on auto-aim. The game is frantic (as it should be) but the limitations of a PS3 or Xbox controller do not play well with the warzone. Auto-aim is a necessity to engage the sheer number of combatants the game throws at your. And where is the skill in that? I find myself tapping rifle aim (R1) as quickly as possible to lock onto, shoot, and kill, the most opponents. Without auto-aim you could not make it through the game. That is why i think First Person Shooting games are unfortunately being crippled by consoles game systems.

With a mouse and keyboard auto-aim is unneeded. Players with fast hand eye coordination are rewarded for having skill. But there is no skill involved in a game that uses auto-aim. Such a game is elementary; MW2 (i hate this abbreviation because MW2 is MechWarrior2) is crippled by the console controller. A game like Crysis is far more enjoyable for me. I aim, i shoot... it takes me time to aim, to zero in on the kill... that process is not simply executed with the tap of a button (R1).

This, naturally, is all my opinion. Flame me if you want, but i do not think Modern Warfare 2 is the game everyone makes it out to be. It is not my game of the year. Nor is it my shooter of the year (that would be Killzone 2). Though, not even KZ2 can touch Crysis.

Ehh autoaim on PS3 is only necessary on the Hard and Veteran difficulty settings. Personally I find the most enjoyable time on the Normal difficulty. I think a lot of people are fine with that too.

Hmm.. How did MW2 "Set the standard" for FPS? >_> Was the standards really that low to remove Dedicated servers, introduce their most crappy match making service (If not teh WORST i've seen.. EA couldn't even beat that for the worst service.. and ITS EA!!!!!!!) Didn't really show anything new or change anything in game for it to "Set the standard". All it did was pretty much break the game with hellicious ideas to make it better which made it worse and than geared MP to "Competitive" which really aint all that competitive at all imo. Multiplayer resembles a lot of like F.E.A.R's where you don't have any purpose but to kill 'x' enemy's and make your team win >_> I mean for the most part. Not talking game modes. That's basically what F.E.A.R. did >_>

MW2 was good yes, storyline eh had good points and some stupidly horrible points but all in all wasn't no omg "Set the Standards" FPS. It's pretty much same FPS as it's been for years with no real solid changes other than the swapping of parts for your guns.

British people must love MW2. The heroes are British, and the true the villains are American. How the tables have turned!
