I looking forward to Mega Man 10, but what I really want is a new 16-bit Mega Man game, like Mega Man 7 and Mega Man X. Please do that, Capcom.

Mega Man X was so awesome, I remember spending countless hours on that game. Yeah, I also want a new 16-bit Mega Man game. 8-bit Mega Man is good, but 16-bit is better.

Megaman 7 was shite, but a new game like X1 or X3 would be amazing.

The more important part is that Sin & Punishment 2 is conspicuously absent from their list.

Everything's releasing in March? I only see 1 game worth mentioning releasing in March, and that's God of War 3.

I just bought the God of War collection and my worst fears have been confirmed. Mindless button-mashing gameplay? Check. Generic anti-hero protagonist? Check. Gratuitous nudity with no artistic merit or point whatsoever? Che...I mean, bewbs FTW, amirite?!?!

In short, I will not be picking up God of War 3.

Addicting story? Check. Fun gameplay? Check. Out of this world boss battles? Check.

Jeez just because the game has a meaningless mini game, doesn't mean all Gow fans are immature. People say this site is overrun by playslaves but there has been a lot of PS3 exclusive bashing lately.

Addicting story? No. It should have been titled "Greek Myths for Dummies." Fun gameplay? See the comment about repetitive and mindless button-mashing. I'll give you the epic boss battles, but that's just not enough. Plus, the "claymation" cut scenes really detract from the overall experience.

As for exclusives, I think Sony is doing a great job getting out new and interesting IPs. Totally psyched for Heavy Rain and The Last Guardian and Uncharted 2 and Infamous were two of my top picks for GOTY, but God of War is just a stupid beat-em-up that's famous for all of the wrong (and dumb) reasons.

What on Earth is up with releasing everything in March? I think it's time to start taking bets on what gets pushed back because of the overcrowded Q1 about now.

Also,
WHERE IS SIN & PUNISHMENT, NINTENDO???

I think March is the end of the fiscal year for several companies? I may be hallucinating but I thought that was the case. Companies like releasing stuff in March to have a strong end-of-year.

Some are saying it's an incomplete list, because Sin and Punishment is still listed as Q1 on their press site (though that could just be an issue of forgetting to update the page), but there are a few others who should be on the list that aren't

Trauma Team, Lost in Shadow, and Cave Story are the other ones that should be in that date range, but are missing from the list

It had better be incomplete. Nintendo would be a thousand kinds of fuckin' stupid to let a software drought kill their momentum again. There's also no reason S&P2 can't be released by then. It's not exactly brimming with text and dialogue that needs translating.

Of course, this IS NOA we're talking about.

Yeah, but its not like releasing or not releasing Sin and Punishment is going to make any difference at all in momentum. They'll release it, they're pretty much obligated to, since NoA specifically promised to do so multiple times, starting with its proclamations

It would be a PR nightmare for them to turn around and do things like what they did to Disaster.

Though we easily forget that NoA was the only branch out of the three to give Excitebots a chance

Yeah, what's up with March being the hot shit? January is relatively crowded, but February is pretty clear in my recollection.

Also, it hasn't been confirmed for HD systems, but I can't imagine they'd make it an exclusive after only one multi-platform game. I don't remember any sales figures, but I'd hazard a guess and say MM9 Wii sales were less than 1/3 of the total sales (AKA more on HD consoles).

January has Darksiders, Bayonetta, and Mass Effect 2. And Dante's Inferno, right?

That should cover just about everyone.

Sorry, but MM9 sold the most at WiiWare. Same thing has happened with other games... see World of Goo or the StrongBad series... the WiiWare versions has sold more than the PC versions.

Yeah, i'd hazard a guess that the Wii version sold more. Despite the Wii's lower proportions of internet connectivity, it seemed that the user response was strongest on those platforms, and that it is still most widely, properly regarded as a WiiWare game

Though i know of no-one who collects this data (VGChartz is very spotty on that front, and i know of no official trackers), so either of us could be right.

My guess would be WiiWare, too. They basically marketed it as a WiiWare title first and foremost, not to mention that the sequel is again the lead platform on the Wii.

I would like to see it on the other systems as well, just because I bought 9 on PS3, and I'm kind of OCD about keeping a series on the same system.

Stupid reason, but honest.

What's the gimmick? '08 return to NES graphics and spartan difficulty was interesting but more of the same is yawn-inducing.

Yes, GOD FORBID these game companies release titles that do more than target the 15 year old boy demographics. Fuckers. They should be releasing more generic shooters and action games with hyper-realistic blood splatter, damnit.

Oh, what is the industry coming to?

Don't play it then, crybaby. It's only a ten dollar game. Mega Man is at its best when 8bit and 2D. The fact that these games are even being made today is a total gift. When you're handed a $100 bill would you complain "hmm, same guy's face on the front, boring"?

I wouldn't have Mega Man any other way than NES style. No, I don't think the X series is any good.

The downside is it also features all the detriments of Mega Man 9, Pay-to-Play, on-line rankings, In-Game Achievement Challenges (Mr. Perfect anyone?)

As much as nostalgia fuels me, I ain't going to buy something that caters to my worst base instincts and combines the worst aspects of modern gaming.
