I had absolutely no idea it was Nolan as Desmon in Assassin's Creed. The people who say he's a subpar actor can suck a dick. He may be the likeable everyman all the time, but he's fuckin' good at it.

I agree. Why is this game being made? It's uncomfortable to think about but it's pretty obvious this is made to cash in with the movie.

Looks like all the fans would have prefered a sequel to 2008's Prince, I would have anyway.

Don't get me wrong, Sands of Time was great at the time but...it's finished and I was fine with that. It didn't need to be returned to.

Yep, this game looks like they lost the plot again. I thought they'd learnt not to take this franchise to seriously but it looks like we're in for another emo-fest. Not to mention the prince seemed to be moving more like a monkey, like he belongs on all fours.

Shame about the 2008 reboot not doing too well, I thought it was really good.

i loved the original trilogy, i liked the 2008 reboot as well, and i'd like to see a sequel to that as well. but a 7 year period between the story of 2 back to back games is a long time, so i wouldnt mind seeing how/why he became the way that he had. (which im sure they didnt even think about when they made The Warrior Within, probably just to make the game more of an action game for the people who didnt care for Sands of Time, which was an amazing game.

I hate the idea of paid DLC, but I'd rather pay for it than not get it. :(

And I hope they continue with the 2008 POP at some point.

Do you think people will just pirate the DLC or not buy it outright?

You don't think you have a good medium to distribute the DLC?

There isn't a large enough install base on the PC to justify porting the DLC?

You just plain and simple hate the PC?

johnnynumber5, those are pre-order bonuses I am talking about, little game items that greedy developers want to nickel and dime you on. I don't want to pre-order from Gamestop just to get a piece of armor. If I buy the game normally, I can never get it, and I find that unfair.

I will not pirate DLC, I would purchase that. If the GTA4 DLC comes to PC, I will immediately purchase that.

"tell me really why the PC version of POP 2008 won't get the "Epilouge" DLC"

The reason the epilogue DLC will never come to the PC is because it would have generated more illegal downloads than revenue. Piracy isn't an issue of platform it's an issue of personal ethics.
___
"I don't want to pre-order from Gamestop just to get a piece of armor. If I buy the game normally, I can never get it, and I find that unfair."

If you make a choice not to do business with Gamestop then you can't have their pre-order bonus. It's as simple as that. There is nothing unfair about it and saying otherwise is acting like a petulant child.
___

"If you console gamers could "pirate" just as easily as PC gamers, the thought would probably cross your mind as well."

The platform has nothing to do with it as this is an individual decision. Nothing wrong with having thoughts. However, acting on them is the difference between doing whats right and wrong.

"You aren't more moral and upstanding citizens than PC gamers, please."

That was never implied. You asked why they wouldn't release the DLC and I showed you in your own words why they won't do it.
___

"I will not pirate DLC, I would purchase that. If the GTA4 DLC comes to PC, I will immediately purchase that."

Thats great and I have no reason not to believe you. However, do you honestly think that makes a difference to the publisher / developer? I don't think that type of outlook gives them much confidence.
___

"If the wonderful moral, pure-hearted upstanding console gamers want to tell me why that would be wrong, I'd be happy to listen."

Don't patronize me. This is an individual choice and you are just rationalizing stealing content because of a personal decision not to shop at a specific retailer. Simply by downloading the content you are undermining the publisher / developer of a game you supposedly love and your own moral compass by not standing frim in your beliefs.

If I didn't support something you couldn't pay me to have anything to do with it in any capacity. If you are just going to download the content anyway it kind of proves that you aren't steadfast in your beliefs. Pre-order from a retailer who you are confortable spending with and be happy with whatever the bonus is they are offering. It's just that simple.

You don't have to feel bad. However, those decisions can have an effect on additional content coming to your platform. If the content is so dumb you wouldn't want to waste a pre-order for it then why pirate it in the first place?

It's a personal issue and a moral choice. Would you be content to have someone steal $5.00 from you simply because it's not as bad as if they stole $15.00? Getting your stuff stolen isn't a good thing no matter how you rationalize it.

please johnny,

that pirating thing stopping games from coming to the PC is getting old.

even modern warfare 2 sold better on the pc that the first one did, despite all the talks of pirates downloading it for revenge.

and steam shows that DLC can be put on the PC succefully.

Pirating is a bullshit reason, and pirating is pretty damn rampant on consoles as well.

Microsoft has sold what? 20 million 360s? and banned what? 1 million xboxs in November alone? and those are only the ones stupid enough to get caught.

are you telling me that piracy isnt a problem on the 360?

Then theres the PSP, possibly the device that suffers from piracy the most, i mean, you can find websites to download full games the day they come out, and each game has like 20000 hits or more same day.

PS3 also suffers from it as well i am sure, considering it is basically a super computer.

Piracy sucks everywhere, it isnt an excuse to alienate PC gamers.

jonny, it usually cost less to pre-order than it does to buy on launch day.

im not stealing 5 dollars, im simply getting something that otherwise i would never be able to get. This content is free, and not resold, especially on the PC.

I paid the 5 dollars extra for it, why the hell should it matter if i download a 10kb armor that is just a black version of whatever else is in the game.

it's retarded, and it isn't a reason why this content isn't available.

"that pirating thing stopping games from coming to the PC is getting old."

It didn't stop the game from coming to the PC. However, it did stop the additional DLC from making an appearance. You may think the reasoning is getting old but I'm sure publishers feel the same way when it comes to their games being stolen in record numbers.

"are you telling me that piracy isnt a problem on the 360?"

I actually said the platform itself is irrelevant when it comes to piracy as it's a personal and ethical decision. If you think console piracy is as bad as PC piracy you are wrong simply because of the volume of users and closed systems. This was in regards to DLC not actual games but the point remains the same.

"Piracy sucks everywhere, it isnt an excuse to alienate PC gamers."

Piracy does suck and PC gamers have alienated themselves out of getting content by having the same sense of entitlement you and RKN portrayed in your comments. "I don't feel bad about stealing it because it should be free anyway."

The sheer volume and ease of piracy is what makes it different on PC. You don't have to install hardware modifications to play pirated content on the PC.

"Then theres the PSP, possibly the device that suffers from piracy the most, i mean, you can find websites to download full games the day they come out, and each game has like 20000 hits or more same day."

Thats exactly why Sony released an all digital PSP. Thats also why the PSP2 will be all digital.

Yes but that retailer had an agreement with that publisher to offer that content so consumers would buy the game at their store. They likely paid in some way to offer that content be it from advertising or directly. If it's so insignifigant to the overall game and experience then why go out of your way to steal it?

"it's retarded, and it isn't a reason why this content isn't available"

If you don't think the epilogue content of Prince of Persia wasn't released on the PC because of piracy then you are living with your head in the sand. It wasn't worth it to release it on the platform because of the same type of attitude you've displayed. "That DLC should've came with the game anyway and it's dumb I should have to pay extra for it so I just downloaded it for free." It's not as if they hate money or have something personal against people playing on a computer.

Those items are DLC. They are DLC you get free for pre-ordering the game from a specific retailer. As I've stated 10 times already. It just further demonstrates the sense of entitlement. You feel like you should get those items regardless if you pre-ordered the game from the retailer offering that content or not. If you'd steal a worthless piece of horse armor that has no bearing on the game or just looks cool you'd be more likely to steal the game itself and premium DLC.

It's the attitude of you guys and it makes perfect sense to me why a publisher wouldn't want to release additional content for you to end up rationalizing and stealing.

"either respond to that, or dont respond at all."

I have been and you still don't get it. I'm not here to argue about it I'm just explaining the "business reasons" to RKN that won't allow him to play the epilogue DLC for Prince of Persia.

I certainly am not happy with PC pirates that hurt PC gaming as a whole, hurting that platform in favor of the consoles, which is a crying damn shame. I pirated my PC games as a teenager but now purchase all my games. I'd hate to see PC gaming die in favor of consoles only, that would be a terrible gaming world to live in.

I am still not sure about these pre-order bonuses, but I suppose its either purchasing everything or pirating everything, I dunno. I don't feel very bad at all "stealing" a piece of armor from Gamestop however. They got plenty of 360 owners to preorder ME2 from them anyways.

Thanks again Brian for your support.

RKN, I'm sorry, but you're just a flat out idiot. Just flat out. You won't bother to go out and pre-order something for free DLC, but would rather pirate it because you have some over-blown sense of entitlement? Holy shit, dude.

It doesn't matter how YOU see it. Pirating software is ILLEGAL. Period. Doesn't matter if it's free DLC for pre-ordering, it's still illegal, because you didn't go through the proper channels to get it. Because you're too thick-headed to put down five bucks BEFORE the game comes out. I mean, seriously.

And what if those pre-order bonuses become available through BioWare/EA after the game has been released for a cost? Say $5 or so? I sure as hell hope you delete that pirated crap and purchase it, as you keep saying you do.

And finally, there are no "console gamers" and "PC Gamers", we're all just gamers together. I'm one of those "PC Gamers" you're so proud to be, and I'm disgusted with your air of superiority and arrogance. Put down the five bucks and get the armor the right way, and stop your QQing.

There are times when you have to draw the line, I didn't even purchase my games not too long ago, but I now do to support PC gaming. Pre-order bonuses are a dirty tactic to me and I can't support it, at least not yet.

I think that gaming, especially console gaming is getting worse with all this DLC, pre-order bonuses, etc. The fat cats benefit, the gamers get shafted.

I preordered at gamestop, and bought the codes from best buy because I wanted both. Simple as that.

Doesn't really matter though, because I gladly would have bought Uncharted 2 twice anyway :D
