Though the Bjork-filled trailer for Spec Ops: The Line may have left you eager to start shooting up a sandy Dubai, we have to recommend that you save at least some anticipation for late next year. According to publisher Take-Two, the Yager-developed shooter isn't due until the 2011 fiscal year, which kicks off on Nov. 1 of 2010.
Yes, it's a long way off, but don't get depressed! Your friends at Joystiq have a wonderful way of filling your quota for desert-based e-murder in the interim: 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand. With Game of the Year list time just around the corner, has there ever been a better moment to revisit the most points-laden diamond skull hunt of the year? We think not.

Really? That trailer looked pretty good for it to be that far off.

I guess it's just me but I didn't think it looked that good. The terrain deformation was cool but the shooting looked pretty shitty. Shittyshooting.
That also could be an effect of not having the HUD on, though.

I just don't get so many gamers this generation. How does that shooting look shitty? How does it look different from any other shooting? It looks like a straight mix between Gears of War and Modern Warfare, two critically acclaimed games with amazing sales and huge popularity... I mean, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but that doesn't mean I can't be confused by them.

Good. After Q1 2010 I'm going to be broke for a long time.

I thought so, looks like a big game that would benefit from a Fall release.
Trailer reminded me a lot of Uncharted 2 as well, felt very similar in terms of scale. Only this one looked ramped up a few notches. If it's any good it should be very enjoyable.

...okay? I didn't expect it any earlier then Q4 to begin with. This is like the first trailer we're seeing of this thing and it's the end of the year. Take your time, put some work in, and if it's anywhere near as bad ass as the trailer, I'll be sure to pick it up when it finally does come out.

It's a trailer, not necessarily gameplay footage.
If it was gameplay footage, that wouldn't mean it's on rails either. Just that that specific sand/hanging event was scripted.

While the gameplay looks fun .. if they don't do something good with the storyline it can be quite shitty IMHO.
Don't get me wrong, I think the game looks great but if its going to be you going from point A->B->C...-.Z with 30 guys popping out and repelling throughout the entire game .. it could be flop.
T2 doesn't publish crummy games though (IMHO), so they'll probably keep things in order.
